So, after MANY failed posts, my eyes are in pain. You're gets switched with your, lose with loose, and countless others. I had thought the average IQ in this game was 140. Just goes to show that IQ tests are meaningless in the face of 'common' knowledge. Your posts are showing your intelligence, people.
Now, I realize that not everyone has English as their first language. In fact, many English people don't know their own language. But come on! It's not that hard to put a little thought into your posts.
A poorly written post tells others that your opinion is not important. How? By placing words in the mind of the reader that DO NOT COMPUTE.
For instance: You're fit is stupid. Their's no way a 1600 mm plate will fit on a Navitas. You loose.
(I stop reading once I encounter the first misspelled word, personally.)
And here's how I'll prove or STFU... (though many will advocate the STFU part)
The test:
If your native tongue is English, take this test.
Then post you results.
Now, go back to school.

…it's not that strange — or all that uncommon — that non-native speakers score highly on these kinds of tests. They've actually had to study this type of intricacies for years and have taken tons of similar tests, whereas native speakers are often assumed to "just know it", and have only superficially studied the grammar of their language.

on my sats I scored a perfect 800 in math and a 400 out of 800 in english.
In a long 3 hour IQ test I was given when I was 16 I was found to have an IQ of 163
I see things differenty than you do, it's part of why I'm a great artist. I have vast knowlegde of artists and art styles. My mind works differently than yours does, but you know what, this is a forum and I'm allready bad at english, party because I guess I think words are pointless when you can just draw to get your point across.

See now this is just eve forum elitists making stuff up. It doesn't take a 140 IQ to navigate through spreadsheets online. Crunching a few numbers isn't as "complex" as some people make it out to be.
That said, having a 140 IQ never prevented anyone from trolling, posting "just to watch the forums burn," or acting immature in general.

I know, I know. Teh Intarweb has confuzzled us all by bringing casual, colloquial verbal styles into the hitherto extremely stuffy realm of typeface and some of us are close to pulling a /wrist over the irritatingly infectious misspellings and misuses spawned by such an unholy union.
It makes horrible things happen, like single- sentence paragraphs.
Quelque Chose's good advice: just pretend your monitor is actually the stall divider from the head at your favorite local beer joint. It'll be OK, I promise.

I think this goes to show you that it is not that we can't spell or use grammer or understand it when we read it, but that we are hyper-active typers who game for the better part of our lives; therefore, we do not incline to indulge in the academic style of writting indicative of other wordly persuits, such that it is not an accurate assumption that we are inferior in some way but rather more concerned with getting our points acrossed through the emotional bagage of applying ourselves to a game that takes up more time in our lives than life itself which lends us to a behavior set that constitutes a writting style that can be understood by like minds, and for that, I would say that the original poster is a noob.

English is a funny old beast. Its been chopped and changed and bastardised so many thousands of times through the centuries that most scholars would agree it doesn't deserve its own name.
And now in the age of instant communication across, between and inside all nations of the earth, a few languages are becoming de facto standards in its emerging communities.
Eve-Online is one such community, English is the language in question.
Experience of this community over the last 5 years has taught me that perfect English rarely achieves its intended goal, and in fact in a social setting such as this a more relaxed version of English is sometimes required to allow many different people to understand the same words.
Mostly this means decoupling syntax and grammar and assigning them a lower relevance than context.
Perhaps the op has found himself or herself embarrassed somewhere along the line by slipping into bad habits due to this forum. Write for your audience, not for the language!

Heheheh, not bad for only high-school level English, from a S. Florida school even. (Class of '83).
Most of my mistakes can be attributed to poor/lazy typing as opposed to actual ignorance of English.

And in my experience the people besmirching internet forums with horrible language/grammar are mostly native speakers too lazy and/or impolite to bother to check their post (or even to try and write halfway correct in the first place), not foreigners who usually at least try and often make completely different mistakes that are far less annoying to the educated eye than the negligences of native speakers.
Anyway, if they enjoy looking as smart as a slice of bread, let them.

not too shabby for 5 minutes for someone whos native language is NOT english
a little tricky a few of them for non native english speakers, some of them i hadn't heard before and had to guess, like faze and i bloody couldn't remember phenomenon or phenomena, maybe because i've been up all night doing stuff, vacation off work is awesome..

as for your whole "ppl are stupid if they can't spell" rant, well i don't know about that, there can be many reasons for why that is and you can be quite intelligent nonetheless and personally i think that unless the tone of the thread or conversation is overly condescending, for no good reason, then it seems a bit arrogant to label it as hogwash and not even bother listening to it.. there's selective reasoning and then there's selective stupidity.
it's healthy to consider all aspects, even the ones you are not entirely comfortable about, because if you don't, then unbeknownst to yourself you could be none the wiser and possibly extremely inaccurate in what you hold to be true and false.

Although I have to add that probably 80% of everything I read and watch since a few years ago is in English, and I've easily been reading about 50-100 books a year - just prefer to experience what the original author really wanted to express, and not an interpretation by a third party (the translator, obviously).

Half the time, posting on forums is done from the top of the head. Although good grammar and spelling is nice, it hardly matters if the general message comes across. If the OP is so hung up on other people's spelling and grammar, maybe he/she should be seeking psychiatric advice instead of posting on public forums. Failing that, maybe the teaching profession would be more suitable so he/she can pass on their 'expertise' in the English language. Just don't be surprised at how many kids don't give a damn.
BTW, IQ tests are meaningless. You can have a very high IQ but still fail at very basic English. The tests do not indicate your ability to read and write properly, they merely show your ability for abstract thought and therefore your ability to solve problems easily.

Score isnt too bad for me as i never did too well at school in my english subjects.

I suppose the fact I'm doing a degree in Linguistics helps, but the grammar questions (whoever, whomever etc) are just prescriptivist *******s.
And that a while, for a while, awhile question was BS, I've never seen that written as 'awhile'. Unless I have, and my brain has just automatically read it as 'a while', like I read (the game title) Planescape as Planetscape for years before finally noticing is was Planescape when someone spoke the title to me.

Half the time, posting on forums is done from the top of the head. Although good grammar and spelling is nice, it hardly matters if the general message comes across. If the OP is so hung up on other people's spelling and grammar, maybe he/she should be seeking psychiatric advice instead of posting on public forums. Failing that, maybe the teaching profession would be more suitable so he/she can pass on their 'expertise' in the English language. Just don't be surprised at how many kids don't give a damn.
BTW, IQ tests are meaningless. You can have a very high IQ but still fail at very basic English. The tests do not indicate your ability to read and write properly, they merely show your ability for abstract thought and therefore your ability to solve problems easily.
