Ill keep this simple.
As we all know, NOBODY (as far as im aware), HULL TANKS!!!
Therefore.....
Why not remove ALL hull repairers and just have a single hull repairer that can fit on any sized ship, and repair amount is based on ship mass??
Furthermore, make it so it can only be activate within 10km of either a station, or ship maintenance bay (Or similar to prevent people abusing it if it becomes possible). most people repair hull outside station anyway.
Not sure of the implications this might cause to people out in low sec or even 0.0, but im pretty sure this would free up the server databses some whats.

As Vaal pointed out, if it aint broke then dont fix it. Also gettin rid of hull repairers and just having 1 for all ships is somewhat lame as:
1- Having different size Hull rep's doesnt put more pressure on the database 2- If implemented people would start shouting that they want the same for armor reps 3- Waste of Dev's time 4- RP perspective (why not the same for armor and shield reps) |

And yes i agree, if it aint broke dont fix it.
And also, if your only argument is 'people will want the same for shield and armor', then you obviously dont see what im getting at. (Troll anyone?) and im pretty sure people wont expect the same as THEY will understand what im on about. Oh and arnt your comments 2 and 4 pretty much the same?
And its no trouble at all to press 'delete'.
Anyways...was just an idea.

I was under the impression that Gallente were originally slated to be hull tankers. That's why there are so many hull enhancing mods, which seem useless now. CCP just left them in for variety's sake I suppose. _____________ Hai. |

I don't understand why Hull repairers are Teir 2 when Armor Repairers are Teir 1.
As if you need any further reasons not to Hull tank?

DCUs should repair hull gradually, maybe at the same rate as a small hull rep.

A Small Hull Repairer I repairs at a rate of 0.83 structure/sec. A Small Hull Repairer II repairs at a rat of 1.1 structure/sec.
While this isn't a horrible idea, that's far too much effort for what it's worth.

What they need to do is change the "Regenerative" line of resistance plates and energized plates from a +% Armor bonus into a passive armor repairing module... ---

Actually, many people hull tank. They may not want to but they do.
The reppers just get you back to full after the fight as you never active hull tank only buffer tank. In this regard they work. Not all that usefull to have plethora of them but not totally useless either.

shield tanking is (noestly) far superior ro armor tanking (actively anyway). But armor reps already have this taken into account, 2:1 cap/hp ratio - shield boosters have a 1.5:1 ratio. 2x lar II = XL II + SBA II roughly cap wise, but tanks a bit better DPS wise. -------

Fair point, perhaps as much as an XL Hull Rep?
