ok, so me and my friend are ninja-ing in ******, where you wouldn't think there is a lot. I warp us into this WC mission(I am teaching him how to ninja) and we salvage the wrecks by the Sansha gate and lewt. We got some decent shit, but I went back to see if there was any more after my timer ran out. What do I see? one more can that I must have missed, right next to the gate.
What must have happened is that they finished the Angels part of WC already, and their salvager ran out of room so he jetted his cargo. this is my masterpiece, my crown jewel, of thiefing. in the can was 1355 m3 of salvage and loots, and I came back in a Hoarder to get it all-check it out =P

Relevant because I couldn't believe that anyone would be so stupid as to jet a can full of valuable salvage when I know that they saw me warp in.
My friend and I were racing the guy to the wrecks and cans near the gate.

Cump (?) change which the missioner nevertheless had carefully gathered and placed in an unsecure can. That is the amusing bit. Good haul there :)
Of course, missioners can't understand, for them it's all about the ISK/hour, stopwatch in hand. No sense for hunting and general sneakyness.

when I started playing the game 6 months ago, I was making my first money with ninja-salvaging too. I've gotten some faction items from ninja-salvaging missions. Up to 100m for an item. Your "treasure" is really nothing to brag about.

Looking over that list it looks like you could have sold it for more than the mineral price. Next time sell the 100mn MWDs, large turrets, and large neuts. The other stuff you can probably reprocess.

The WC mission sometimes has a faction spawn. I was expecting to read about getting a Machariel blueprint and some T2 alloyed trit bars. But nevermind. This was a good bit of ninja work and I'm sure you will have even better stories to come.

Well, if you ninja well, you can make more than the actual mission runner does, if you are quick, you can make 20mil an hour, and it takes about that time to do a WC mission, and in WC, you can make maybe 16 max, unless you are really lucky.

Ignore the trolls. If you wanted to go out and find loot, and you found that much, you succeeded, who cares what everyone else thinks.
What I DON'T understand is, all that salvage... I am part of an industrial corp (say it with me!... CAREBEAR!!!) that makes rigs, and pays well for salvage. Those parts alone could net me 5 million or more. On top of that, each unit of salvage takes up 0.01 m3 of volume! How could you not carry that, especially if you took the fittings to get it in the first place???

EDIT: It IS technically theft (you flipped a can) but I don't call it stealing if they simply did not want it.

As for the best steal ever, I think it actually may be tied with the time when I looted 9 Caldari Navy Admiral tags, got a few large named turrets, and picked up 5 t2 hammerheads from the same wreck field. O_O

That's what I love about C&P... Everybody's ready to kick you when you're down, or knock you down, when you think you're up. One of our newer Members is happy with what he grabbed in a couple seconds worth of work, so he's happy. No harm, no foul.
Hell, the only thing that could have made me happier would have been waiting until the Mission Runner came back to find me about to warp away with his shit, and then the inevitable smack that would accompany it.

It's not the value of the lootz. It's the value of watching someone drag a can around for 30 minutes or better filling it with 'his' missionbooty then swooping in to take it all away from him.
And for a noob-player you nay-sayers know well enough 5 million for 30 minutes of time is a good fortune. Get two in a row like this and thats approx. 10 mil for an hour of time. Respectable.
