What do I do if I don't have an SMTP mail account? Is there a way I can use the standard mail function in PHP instead?

Hi everyone, I'm also having an issue and hope you can be of assistance...
Error:
You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1' at line 25 -- phpMyAdmin SQL Dump -- version 2.9.1.1 -- http://www.phpmyadmin.net -- -- Host: localhost -- Generation Time: Dec 14, 2007 at 12:59 PM -- Server version: 5.0.45 -- PHP Version: 5.2.5 -- -- POS-TRACKER 3.0.0 -- $Id: install_database.sql 134 2008-08-03 21:25:18Z stephenmg $-- -- -------------------------------------------------------- -- -- Table structure for table `pos2_alliance_info` -- CREATE TABLE `pos3_alliance_info` ( `allianceID` int(12) NOT NULL, `name` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `shortName` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `updateTime` int(20) NOT NULL default '0', PRIMARY KEY (`allianceID`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 Problem?
I'm getting this at the second step of the install (install.php?step=2) on a fresh install and fresh database (I'd never had it before). All I can really tell from this is what the error message tells me regarding the location of the problem. Beyond that I'm an SQL newbie and not great with PHP yet. If there is any more info that will help please let me know. Unfortunately if a fix requires any kind of direct access to the MySQL server's config I'm out of luck, I'm using commercial hosting that doesn't give me that kind of access.
Thanks in advance!

Any specific details that would be of use? It's being set up on a site hosted by 1&1 on their 1&1 Home linux-based package. Nothing has been modified outside of necessary settings. Version being used is 3.0 beta 2b.
Server/Extension Versions: Apache: Apache/1.3.34 Ben-SSL/1.55 PHP: 5.2.6 MySQL Client API: 5.0.32
Their server configuration puts the MySQL server at a separate IP from that of the web server, but the config has been adjusted to accommodate this. Outside of this information I can provide you a link to php, perl and python info pages (privately), or if you have specifics in mind let me know and I will do my best to find out. I don't have any kind of shell access to the box but if I need to I can contact their support to ask about the config.

That for the reply Jonathon. You say there is very little reason to edit config.sys when in the readme file it say's: "You must already have a MYSQL database.
Edit the eveconfig/config.php, eveconfig/dbconfig.php, and eveconfig/mailconfig.php files Upload to your host Visit http://YOURPOSTRACKERURL/install.php Follow the steps of the installation.
Delete the install.php file"
Do you mean edit as in when i run install after uploading it asks me to input stuff?
The reason you cant see stuff after line 28 is I didnt copy.paste.
So in essecnce I edit the dbconfig only before the ypload to my host and not the config file right?

No, you do not have to change anything in the config file, the readme has been updated in the latest version to reflect this. Its mostly color settings that do not need to be changed. Now the only config file that needs editing, dbconfig.php, will be done by the install script. If you wish to use the mail functions, you will need to edit mailconfig.php as well

If your updating via SVN, there is an upgrade script included in 179 that will change all materialIDs to match the eve database. It is experimental currently, but I would like feed back from those that are willing to try it on test installs. This effects Silos, Harvesters, and reactors. if you wish to try it, at your own risk, go to upgrade.php after you have updated all the files from the SVN and apply "Experimental - 3.0.0.178 Beta 3 Material ID Fix"

Yes, they are. Individual fuel types are never listed on the track page and never will be. It accounts for charters when it is calculating the lowest fuel type. You can see a detailed status of each fuel type on the viewpos page. |

Firstly keep up the good work. Liking the install "wizard"
However I have to agree with that other guy, charters don't appear to be showing up in details page either, but I'm assuming it's calculating them as my towers are now online... |

Yea, that's right, silly typo. may still need to tweak the actual security status that it adds charters on.

In class.pos.php, lines 608-618 should look like:
$sql = "INSERT INTO ".TBL_PREFIX."update_log ( eve_id, type_id, type, action, datetime) VALUES ('0', '" . Eve::VarPrepForStore($pos_id) . "', '1', 'Delete POS', '" . Eve::VarPrepForStore($time) . "')";

Also, trying to edit a POS, i was getting an error due to outpost_id column does not exist....
In function ChangeTowerInfo
Quote: $sql = "UPDATE ".TBL_PREFIX."tower_info SET pos_status = '".$pos_status."', towerName = '".$towerName."', outpost_id= '".$outpost."', WHERE pos_id = '".$pos_id."'"; $dbconn->Execute($sql);
The table does not have that column, but im guessing it should be outpost_name, so i made a change to
Quote: ]$sql = "UPDATE ".TBL_PREFIX."tower_info SET pos_status = '".$pos_status."', towerName = '".$towerName."', outpost_name = '".$outpost."' WHERE pos_id = '".$pos_id."'"; $dbconn->Execute($sql);
Hope this is of help
(Remember my SQL is in strict mode, and host will not change it)
Nope, your tower_info table should have a outpost_id and not a outpost_name column. Did you run the update script or install a fresh copy? |

I thought I had read that the images would be shrunk ( as the current install is huge 72MB ) but a "quick" scan through the posts, did not yield a quote... Yes, Im starting on it now, will take a bit to get them all on the SVN

Thats what the secondary owner is for in the database. I am not sure if I enabled it though. Anyone with access level 4 should also get an email when the fuel level becomes critical, at least I was intending to do that :)

I seem to be having a strange problem related to timesones on one of my installs. Got 2 seperate installs of the same codebase (beta2 upgraded to beta3) using the same API key.
One is hosted in the US and track.php gives out a "Last Update" timestamp that is "into the future" than current GTM timestamp on the api xml. As an examlple, data pulled at 14.35 gmt lists 16.35 for my gmt+2 box and 23.35 for the US box) The "status" field of all POSes are showing 5h fuel left too(or less if I let it run) on the US install, on my other install (hosted in GMT+2) this column is correctly calculated. This little "coincidence" with the "around 5 hour error" seemed abit farfetched to me so I dug abit around, but since my PHP is not all that...
You seems to be calling the time(), a php function that calls the current unix timestamp (a runing number based on GMT time to be blunt) Some magic is done to this number and that is used in the further calculation of what the timestamp on the cached api xml should be. Could there be any situations where this timecalculation will end up in a negative number and eat all the timer calculations for POSes? I was not able to follow the code all thru, so missing something is an option for me here.
The webhost in the US is running all versions for correct software, but I am unsure if they are playing with some wierd time variables thru PHP. Its a big virtual hosting provider and I have very little direct control or know how on how they work.
However I do have the working installation running under my 100% control and would be able to do some "brekage" testing on that to root out the bug if you are inclined. Im guessing I could upload some timing test scripts in php to the webhost too to see if they are playing with some timestamp settings in php.ini perhapps.
Im keeping the possiblity open that this also only happens some times during the day, and after a rollover it will go back to working correct. Or that this error is nothing like what I just made up and the bug is somewhat totaly different.

And Ill just add for your convenience that viewpos.php is listing the "correct"* ammount of online time based on the fuel amount.
*That is the; tower ingame lists 10d 5h gmt+2 host lists 10d 1h gmt+X host lists 10d 8h
...so its still abit early to say, just giving an example. Just saying that the polling and calculation of spesific fuels are working on a pos by pos basis.
By the way, great project. Thumbs up!

I'm now working with beta 3. I'm no longer getting the charset error, and everything seemed to be going well. Then I noticed the install script was stalling at "Creating/Updating tables" and not progressing or throwing errors. I let it sit for 12 hours to see if it was just going slowly and then used phpMyAdmin to check and see if it was putting anything into the database as it should be and it isn't. The database is still completely empty. It has not thrown any database connection errors but it seems to be failing to create tables and inject the data properly. This morning, for the sake of experimentation and troubleshooting I attempted to use the phpMyAdmin query window's Import Files page to import install_database.sql and received the following error (which may be unrelated to POS Tracker, but I want to provide anything that might help):
Error
SQL query:
-- phpMyAdmin SQL Dump -- version 2.9.1.1 -- http://www.phpmyadmin.net -- -- Host: localhost -- Generation Time: Dec 14, 2007 at 12:59 PM -- Server version: 5.0.45 -- PHP Version: 5.2.5 -- -- POS-TRACKER 3.0.0 -- $Id: install_database.sql 176 2008-09-28 17:38:10Z stephenmg $-- -- -------------------------------------------------------- -- -- Table structure for table `pos2_alliance_info` -- DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `%prefix%alliance_info`
MySQL said: Documentation #1046 - No Database Selected
I am now also alternately receiving the charset error again through phpMyAdmin.
I'm starting to get the feeling that this might be a complication of the SQL server running on a different box that isn't externally accessible. Could all of this be due to a server-side issue I need to contact my host about? If you think so as well then I can always set up XAMPP or Apache2Triad on my Win Server 2003 box to test the theory.
On a side note, if anyone here also has hosting through 1&1 and has it working please contact me.

Before you try importing with phpmyadmin, run a search and replace to replace all the %prefix% with what ever prefix you set in the dbconfig.php file. As far as the actual cause of your issue, im not sure, although I wonder if your bumping into the maximum script execution time limit.

Yes i ran the upgrade, however, when i try to run the query manually it errors.
SQL query:
ALTER TABLE `pos2_tower_info` CHANGE `outpost_name` `outpost_id` BIGINT( 20 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0'
MySQL said: Documentation #1366 - Incorrect integer value: 'None' for column 'outpost_id' at row 1
If would appear the values that are already there ('None' in this case) is preventing changing to 'BIGINT'.
UPDATE `%prefix%tower_info` set `outpost_name`='0'; ALTER TABLE `%prefix%tower_info` CHANGE `outpost_name` `outpost_id` BIGINT( 20 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
Used this on my install, and it changed it ok then.
