I have been killing various levels of blood raider spawns in 5 different systems since it was announced that they were dropping Jove pieces. In nearly 3 days of spawning i have not dropped a single cerebral slice yet.
This is despite having picked up nearly 40 liver biles. Lots of bone splinters, and lots of epidermis. I have only received one blood drop.
Now the way i see it is that the caldari need 200 liver to make a order, gallente need 150 cerebrals. Therefore the drop rates should be nearly on parity. They are nowhere near this however. I could accept collassal bad luck on my part but not when i ask in the gallente channel and NO ONE else has dropped any cerebrals either.
So if everyone else is dropping liver biles in a similar manner to me and the people i talk to then the caldari are running away with this "competition".
WHAT GIVES?.....

yeah, some more info from players would be nice, especially if people have any ideas of loot tables for blood raider friggies, cruisers and BS dropping different parts of Jovians. It could be said that dropping the cerebal slices wil be rarer as they are the rarest fragment to drop and you've just had bad luck. Or perhaps the drops are time dependant . . . some more info would be nice and help determine things, but the mystery is nice as well. Not of course if the cerebal drop rate is b0rked in favour of other parts. However, i go back to the idea that bad luck does seem to run in alot of EVE.....

Edited by: Kakita Jalaan on 01/06/2004 00:42:27 Ok, suppose liver biles are sold in batches of 200, cerebrals in 150s. Probability of a cerebral dropping should be 3/4 of the prob of a liver dropping. Then if say 40 total of the two of them combined drop, in most cases you would expect 3/7 to be cerebral and 4/7 livers (out of 40, that's roughly 17 vs 23). The probability of not a single cerebral being in the lot is
p = (4/7)^40 (all are livers) which is approximately 0.000000019%
Go figure. Similar things apply for blood drops. Whichever way this is planned, at the moment it is highly unlikely that pieces are being distributed evenly.
edit: and this is just taking John's pieces into account, if I'd include the rest of the Gallente channel, the "bad luck on our part" would get quite astronomically ridiculous.

( well, judging by the bad luck that has been seen in agent missions, not getting a certain thing drop in several hundred drops is not out of the question. I'm certain alot of the agent runners (myself included) have seen some things drop at silly rates and some things once in a blue moon and some never despite the rate being published by Papa S. But if trhis is rampant throughoiut alot of people in the Gallente side then i do agree it should be looked into. Have the cerebrals been seen to be dropped over long periods of farming? Also, what types of blood raiders have been tried? Perchance it requires a certain ship type to be killed to have a better chance at the loot table with the cerebral slice? )

I havnt had any cerebrals either. However i have had quite a bit of blood drops and bone splinters, yet barely any liver biles.

Certain Blood raiders ships, drop specific bodyparts ( as i noticed ) and other ships drop none.
One type of frigates drops slivers and bone splinters and one type cruisers drops cerebral slices and liver bile. I havent seen any blood drops yet, but then again, i havent killed all the bloodraiders.
maybe this will help u.

I think i see what your saying. It appears that cerebrals are being dropped by 0.0 rats, which as we know are an entirely different thing to killing rats in a 0.1 Much easier to spawn ramp in 0.1 than it is in 0.0 also.
If this was the dev's way of making the drop rarity of cerebrals in relation to liver biles they have severely screwed up.
As far as i can tell from the gallente channel no-one has still yet dropped a cerebral.

you can get all pieces in 0.1 and above, don't have to go 0.0

According to gm [GM]Sw00sh the loot tables have been changed this downtime. No comments on how they where changed exactly.
Ahwell.... Atleast the group im working with already has more then 1 batch then needed, but this change will mainly screw over non-powergamers since they figured out what to do to late.

Their IQ dropped?
Why would Blood Raiders return "liberated parts" to a place they normally only is at to "protect" the ore?
I though CCP said they wanted to make EVE real... not stupid and silly.

Actually, the Bloods have gotten smarter, if anything:
Blood Raider 1: "Hey, someone's killing all our guys in some systems to get the holy body parts we collected."
Blood Raider 2: "Uh... let's send more there!"
Blood Raider 1 and 3: *slap*
Blood raider 3: "We'll fall back to Plan B. You know what you have to do."
Blood Raider 1: "Aye."
Blood Raider 2: "Uh?"
Blood Raider 1 and 3: *slap*

I've gotten a blood drop, was my first drop and only one in my attempts so far, was in .1, think it was an upper level friggy.
