I think your character gets up, walks to a nearby turbolift and you get a screenfade to undocking window, which is probably similar to the current hangar we have now. You can then undock from there as per the usual EVE.

Capsuleers are the elite of the elite. Running anywhere isn't seemly so I don't know if this will happen. And whilst batpoles might be cool in your head, they don't fit the image we're aiming for so it's pretty unlikely

Imagine if you are in jita 4-4 and need to find your own ship before you go,
Having to find out where you parked your ship by the thousands of other's ships wil take a day or two!

Sitting in a tub of goo is something you do in private, with or without a friend.
Yet, I must ask... Is there still plans for implementing 囲碁 (the board game 'go') in ambulation? I would love no more than sitting in front of a board, thinking... And taking a languid look at my com-device as it start beeping, a corp ratter is tackled in a belt by some nano-***s.

I see it like scrambling fighter jets during a surprise attack... alarms sound off and the pilots run towards the ships to undock and engage.
It would teach people to be always ready, even when sitting at the bar (like an air force pilot).

As for undocking, I think the current design docs have the process as you heading to the nearest elevator and being whisked off elsewhere, and then loading the station environment (in your ship). Personally I'm in favour of the mad-cap-dash-down-the-hall-and-dive-head-first-into-the-goo method of ship boarding, but theres plenty of time sinks in EVE as it is. Although with some of the avatars it is very desirable
You could just act out whichever takes your fancy; go to the nearest elevator, and then the ship, or strut your stuff back to your quarters, and then into your ship.
