I think the OP means something like this. Another example would be this one. Or this one. Personally I've found mouse bungees to be really annoying, as the pull they exert on the cable when you move a bit further than normal is just as bad as snagging it on some clutter on your desk.

I think this is by far the cheapest method. Of course this link is just a prototype version -- There's a simple difference between kinky and perverted. Kinky is using a feather to get her in the mood. Perverted is using the whole chicken. |

I used one of those for well over five years, and can vouch for their awesomeness.
now I'm using a Microsoft Sidewinder mouse, which came with it's own cord-control-thingie.

Meh. Nothing beats the classic mouse pad clip. Just snap it in and create the loop (although I prefer having the loop going the other way). ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. Meh. Using a wireless is just setting you up for the inevitable "middle of fleet fight" signal loss and/or battery death. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. It's given freely, and only grudgingly retracted when necessary. |

Try a wireless keyboard. Middle of an argument and you end typing, "oo itt bcsu i sid ssoo!". _

That all happened to me in dark age once. I'm stealthing around and pop another stealther with a crit shot and start going to town on him. I almost have him dead and he's barely touched me then all the sudden I can't do shit and he wins.
After that I learned the wireless mice don't stop flying after a foot or so.

This is why I always keep a package of AA batteries in my desk drawer, right under where I use my mouse. Although since I started using my current mouse, I've changed the batteries exactly twice in 2 years. I'm using THIS mouse. I have the dark aqua and black model. Best part about it? When the batteries get to 10% charge, a red LED right on top starts flashing, so you know it's time to change the batteries well in advance.
Just buy a Logitech mouse like mine. You'll hardly ever run the batteries down, it's accurate, ambidextrous, and has nice rubber grippy sides so it doesn't get slippery if you have sweaty hands (or eat greasy snacks at the PC). Best of all, it costs less than some of those stupid looking "bungie" things, and you'll clean up some desk clutter. Good all around if you ask me. Tactical Logistics using the last T1 Frigate hull!

I use a logitech MX Revolution wireless mouse... it's got a charger base you leave it on when not in use and works fine. For a keyboard... just use a desk.

This. I first experienced its greatness back when I got a surface1030 pad. Once it died, I emulated it by simply duct-taping the mouse cable to the desk in a loop. Worked just as well

logitech for the win, gives u a nice warning 20 minutes before it runs out if using the battery ones which are cheaper, then just replace or get the rechargable base ones, if u leave the computer plonk it in, you will never run out of power.. seriously logitech are awesome including there tech support.
i was doing my house, and my 5 year old knocked my keyboard over which had the wireless receiver plugged in, and it smashed, sent an email to logitech asking to buy a new one, they sent me a replacement for free which arrived from sweden within 2 days, excellent :)

Edited by: Pilk on 10/08/2008 11:57:58 Best solution. Use 'em at home, at work, and everywhere else. As a bonus, acts as a de facto security device, since nobody else knows how to use 'em.
For FPS's, is the best peripheral imaginable to control a helicopter--significantly better than a joystick for 95% of maneuvers.

I don't know where all the hate comes from for wireless mice. Ill admit that like 5 years ago they werent great but my G7 is probably the best mouse i have ever used. No loss of signal, ever and the battery is just a matter of popping the cartridge out and swapping it for the spare they supply with it. (so one is always being charged.

I used to have a mouse that could recharge the batteries from a USB cable that could also charge a Nokia Phone. You could either use the supplied USB cable to charge it or even a Nokia phone charger. It was great and the batteries lasted a long time since they could recharge from the USB even while the PC was switched off. Notice how USB lights etc still light up when the PC is off? This means power is still being routed through the USB port and can still charge devices like this.
I believe it was made by A4Tech and I had two of them until one of my stepkids decided to take them apart to see how they worked Never found a shop that sold them after that or I would have bought the same ones again. They took two rechargeable Penlight batteries (AA size) and I never replaced them in the year that I had the mice.
Edit: You'd still have a cord but only in emergencies if the batteries fail which isn't often since it can run for several days without a recharge even playing Farcry.
