Bellum Eternus Gallente Death of Virtue	Posted - 2008.08.09 07:49:00 - [1] I really can't stand the way the Dominix looks. It's a great ship gameplay wise, but in my opinion it's just too damned ugly to fly. So I've decided to do some concept art and redesign it, making it into a thing of beauty, while still keeping with it's original character and general Gallente style. The good news is that I've decided to involve the Eve community, so that everyone gets a vote and some say in the art direction, so that the end product is a composite of everyone's tastes and style, not just my own personal asthetics. To get started I've done three very quick side view sketches to get everyone's imagination going: Dominix Thumbnail Sketches So if you're interested in participating, please vote for 1 (left ship), 2 (top right), or 3 (bottom right). All feedback will be appreciated, and more quick sketches will be forthcoming once I get some feedback as to what people are interested in seeing. After a few revisions and a solid design that recieves over 50% of the votes, I'll be producing a hand rendered perspective drawing of the final design. If it's popular enough I might consider producing some signed prints for framing. Anyway, I await your comments. Critiques are very welcome. Please keep it constructive. Doctor Hourai	Posted - 2008.08.09 07:54:00 - [2] The number 2 drawing, in the top right, is the best by far, showing signs of higher technology, expected in a drone boat. It also resembles the more cut edges of ships with the Incursus class hull, fitting right in with general Gallente design ethos.

Sea-creature shapes seem to be the gallente way, perhaps there's a more graceful amphibian you could draw inspiration from? Black Hand.

As it is, aside from #2, there is no real definition to the choices, so any real vote will end up being #2. Just saying. Warp Speed skill needed!

Gore Axe	Posted - 2008.08.09 10:31:00 - [25] I like the redesign ideas, although I think we don't want them looking too much like Caldari ships (minimalistic/ rectangular) I do believe Gallente use sea-creature / fish-like shapes in some of their designs. You might wanna keep such accents. Anyway it should look more like a cool spaceship and less than the doorknob it looks like now. Who is General Failure , and why is he reading my drive ?!!??!

Sir Substance Minmatar Sunspot Requisitions Worlds End Consortium	Posted - 2008.08.09 11:23:00 - [30] the one on the left makes little sense. the top one looks too much like a brutix, and the bottom one looks too much like something from star wars, i cant remember what it was exactly right now. ok, criticism over. given that the dominix has a 400m3 hold and a drone bay slightly smaller, i would go for a double-bulb or lobe design, with one a shade smaller then the other. i would make it vertical, somewhat like the nightmare i guess. sadly, i suck at sketching, but if you like, try incorporating some of that into your sketch. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for them, that all went out the window?
