Basically make it look more integrated with the main hull and possibly include some overlap between them. As they are in that sketch they look more like welded on afterthoughts (maybe even caldari-ish?) then parts of the ship.

I remember a MOA redesign thread, had lots of awsome blocky caldari moa models, a bit sleeker and warship like, not "******ed bird-boat-thing" And then the suggestion to have "new republic" optinal skins for most minmatar ships. None of these suggestions ever got noticed by CCP so i guess this one will go down the drain of time too. Support the introduction of well thought out Amarr solutions! I believe rats should avoid you if you have high standing with them.

Maybe - weird idea but maybe - they had a reason to keep it that ugly? I personally would like to see it "optically improved" so it would be way more accepted as the awesome ship it is. Right now even some hardcore min/maxer say "no way" to a flying turd. :D (imo)

That second picture is the most acceptable, even if it was painted by a six years old child in the washing machine. Conclusion: Make it like Moros/Brutix style. A mymri style bs would be also unique I think. BTW: help that peace-o-hsit of a ship Helios, first reshape it, cause thats a really pain for the eyes!!!

Take the Vexor and add some drone bay like parts on the lower part branching to the sides, then there should be drone egress ports to the bottom, gun mounts on top of the drone bays and on the sides. I don't want an aggresive looking Domi. It should be a cute ship where every pirate thinks "Oh what a cute old ship, let's attack it" and a few moment later "Oh SH<BOOM>". --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed !

I'll develope that one a bit more, I think you might like the results, as I agree with you: the ship needs to look like it's a sort of mini-carrier with ports for drones and hangar like areas for drone storage. I only did the 'second sketch' as a response to a request in the thread. Not to worry, I'm going to make some more traditional concepts and take them a bit further. It could be said that all the parts are tractored electronically to stay together. Would just look really cool imo =) wouldnt' even have to be the domi, it could be a whole new ship for joves or something...idc, i just want cool floaty weird things in space

That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing the design be revisited, preferably in a new and re-vamped ship rather than a replacement. Sketch 6 is very impressive but I think that the turrets need to be de-emphasised and instead it should display prominent drone bays that account for the vast drone space a Dominix is known for. The Dominix is a poor mans carrier, while capable of great feats it should present itself modestly with just a splash of Gallentean flourish.

I do indeed like the photoshoped version of the domi with the bulbous head removed in favor of a more sleek design. Any way i sat down for 20min and sketched out a few ideas. This is my faiv one and i spent 10min refining it. Its not necessarily the domi but its my idea of what maybe i would like to see it looking a bit more like. I really like the "space whale" look, it's huge and bulky but majestic at the same time. Well, to each his own.
