The issue I take with this was that the line between internet spaceships and real life has been crossed. It's one thing to be a jerk in the Eve Universe, it is cold and harsh after all. It's a completelt different thing to call for someones suicide on web TV watched by 1000s of viewers with the call for mass harrassment

CCP should have stepped up to the plate and nipped that one in the bud, but they didn't. Everyone needs to remember that this game is rated T currently, which means that several people on these boards and in game are under the age of 18. No problem with that, but CCP needs to keep an eye on laws like the Megan Meier Cyberbullying Prevention Act (H.R. 1966) less they find their U.S. players no longer have the ability to connect

Hello I am Keith known as The Wis. I use to play this allot back in 2002 and then took a long break. Work got to be too much and then allot of hurricans etc. I am 47 and work with computer. Reparing them and TV and ATM machiens etc. I work for my self.
Also a little more about me. My wife likes that I can play this game. She misses these types of games. Over the past 5 years she has gone completly deaf and blind. So some times I need to drop everything to help her with something. I am also very mobel so I am online all the time. Even when driving.
Also an update my wife and I are now Divorced and no the game is that the reason for that.

Eve uni was good, Gentleman's whatever guy was a gentleman, The wormhole dude was Awesome, anthems guy would be better with video... and then had to shut the feed off. So much swearing. Test alliance ceo completely wasted. Disgraceful. I wouldn't let him back.

Last I checked Montolio was the TEST alliance ceo, not MBIII.

If he's troubled, he has a family, he has people around him, and its their job to deal with it, not mine, not yours, not anybody elses, and yes, suicide is a pussies way out, I'd mock anybody considering it relentlessly, get it over with and stop wasting my air.

And as society advances and the virtual aspects of our lives continue to blur with the RL aspects of life (if you don't see this already happening you aren't paying attention) your kids will eventually be hardwired to slowly be marginalized and fail!

We see potential employees already having to face explaining embarrassing Facebook posts and other online artifacts from social networking. You know there are going to be more cases like this:

Interviewer - "our company has a strong online culture, are you active in any online comminities?"

online game asshat - "Sure, I play Eve online, a have quiet a reputation there!"

Interviewer - "wow, I play Eve! what is your character name?"

online asshat - "I'm Snarfnoodle22!"

Interviewer (face suddenly seems to become much more serious) - "Snarf... yes you have quiet a reputation.. I know you very well in game - in fact so did my last two mining barges....."

Interviewer - "well, I think I have all I need to know, I'll get someone to walk you out..."

online asshat leaves, interviewer puts resume in shredder.......

I have had a number of conversations with folks that deny that acting like an asshat in game likely means if you had the restraints that real life enforces removed you'd be just as big an asshat in RL.

Seems like we saw a small demonstration of that at Fanfest!
