I lamented the seeming lack of get-rich-quick schemes (a friend of mine having tried a fake capital ship sale, with no success), and upon discussing this lack of opportunities with a good friend hatched a good idea - join a mission corp, find an expensively-fitted guy, and blow his space pixels apart. So, I shipscanned and shipscanned and shipscanned until I found what I wanted: A rattlesnake fitted with 3-4 officer mods, deadspace booster, faction /t2 everything else, a t2 rig, and basically just painted in isk. I applied, and after a 3 minute conversation, was accepted. Several days later, having gained the trust of the (surprisingly helpful, he would even tell me what he was flying with on any particular day so I wouldn't have to shipscan him) officer rattler pilot (hereafter referred to as "the mark"), I lured him into an Angels Extravaganza mission. This particular mission was chosen for its multiple rooms (to slow down reinforcements, should he be clever enough to call for them) and for its high dps in the bonus room. I lured him in, we cleared it all, went to the bonus room, and then my true colors shone brightly. Activating all of my dominix's neuts and nos, I boldly declared in fleet chat: Quote: [ 2008.08.18 19:27:57 ] Xyschahr > give me all the isk in your wallet, and i'll de-activate my neuts and nos and let you tank this mission. otherwise, you'll probably lose all those shiny officer mods. you hvae 15 seconds. I stopped when he requested, but he still died, and very little of value dropped :(. I am considering petitioning the drop, it was so bad. It's a shame to read the corp chat where they say "I guess we should all solo". No need to solo - just don't take the expensive ships out unless you're sure of the people you're with. You have taught the guy a lesson... although you'd think if he has been around long enough to get all that gear, he would have learned it long before you arrived. Nasty, sneaky trick, but one they should never have fallen for. A newbie player in a newbie corp would deserve sympathy if they were treated like this, but a guy in an officer fitted rattlesnake???????
