Inflation.
Yes, prices has dropped. but that is because the competing supliers. invention has made t2 production dirt cheap and available for everybody, so only thing that makes prices move is demand(buyers). Now lets see two scenarios: lowsec/0.0 gets boosted. The people who are there (thats a nice number) will start making more money, they will have more money than earlier, they will be able to afford more things. Instead of brutix, somebody will use astarte and so on. What this means ? increased demand. Vastly. Prices will skyrocket in the shot run. Of course in the long run, new producers will come into the market, but limited resources like moon minerals will not drop in price, so we WILL see increased prices. Hisec missioning gets nerfed : hisec agentrunners will earn less money. some will switch to other activities, some will go to 0.0/lowsec. but what we wont see is increase in prices.
"There's no reason to go to low-sec if you can make that much money in high-sec!"
thats just you, majority dont because of this. and i think if ccp nerfs lvl4s in hisec you will come to lowsec for sure.
"But I only make a little more than that ratting in zero sec and I assume far more risk!"
Yes, when you are new every activity is hard. but in missioning you need to learn mission only once, next time this mission will be the same. also, when you develop your skills your survivability in missions increases. In 0.0 you must always pay attention. And i dont think you will rat if i follow you in a cloaked ship. "residents" can not touch moon mining money. You assume, that in lowsec you will need to leave your missioning system, well if you are smart with 3 agents you will only take missions in your solar system, so gatecamping is not a problem.
Even if CCP would follow the 'risk vs reward' nerfing only hi sec lev 4 missions would not follow that guideline. If one is supposed to be in pvp zone for pve activity both setups should be the same.
'inflation' - last economic devblogs have already demonstrated that there is no inflation. Read it. It has some interesting numbers.
Ratting is less dangerous than lev 4 missions. I have lost more ships in lev 4 missions than ratting in 0.0, including pvp encounters. Assuming one is bright enough to look at local. And that was before relations were visible in local so you had to manually chek those you did not know to see if they are neutral.
