It's interesting to rise up out of sleep to find that our home is camped by not one, but two enemy fleets.
It's very interesting to find that one of our friends has gone rogue, along with a well known pirate and freebooter, and that the numbers of our enemies had swelled by two battleships.
Knowing that the situation would resolve itself one way or the other, and any involvement from myself, or any of our brethren would only result in good warriors dying, I stood the crew of the PFS Tortured Soul down and decided to check the neo-comm. 5 minutes of trawling through hate mail and spam later, I noticed that someone had escrowed something for my attention. I was stunned to find that the Battleship class PFS Pinafore was awaiting pickup in Heild. I had last seen my ship in combat under the command of Kal Cyann, a tactical decision as Kal had more experience and a better overall effectiveness than myself, and I had assumed that his defection would result in my own ship being used against my brethren and I.
Some people snap under pressure, some fight back, the pressure of flying a battleship owned by someone else (even with insurance), is nothing compared to the pressure of leading the fight against the rabid hounds of Amarr.
I guess Kal snapped.
I'm glad to see his leaving was semi-honourable in that he left no debts, but still, I cannot forgive the dark path he has taken. There are so few of us left who remember the inception of our struggle, so many good pilots who have fallen by the wayside. Now there is another name for the list of enemies, and another good pilot and friend gone.
I think it's time I slept for a while again.

.. that was sad news indeed. I had to move the name of a friend onto the KOS list.
he gave up. Himself, his friends.. the PRM.
I hope someone else takes the burden to pod him, i dont want to do it.

Kal's gone?!?
I don't believe it. Why, I'm sure i was talking to him in the last two days, and he 'seemed' fine.
Another one bites the dust, it seems, for the PRM. ---

Even in betrayal there is honour. He returned the ship as you say, to avoid debts. Though this can make him more dangerous as an enemy as his honour holds fast. He owes you nothing now in his mind, which makes shooting at his old friends all the more easy. I guess this is how he rationalised his descision. ------

Edited by: Yamatar on 08/06/2004 16:58:43 Started last night to be fair. We had some fun all through the night, although my 3 highlights were leading the Pie Fleet out of Hrober, Whilst they all tried to keep up, engaging a 5 ship fleet solo and lasting 10 minutes before i realised that it was a stalemate and having to call in friends and finally getting big headed (seems you cannot say c_o_c_k_y despite its validity) at 2 am suffering sleep deprivation and losing to 2 ruppies and a phoon in hrober.
I dont mind dying at old friends hands, rather them than a stranger.

Yes, you've not been part of the PFM for a while, as I understand it, you went mad for a while as well? maybe this sudden outburst of treachery has some roots in either a psychological, or physiological source.
I shall have to consult our physicians to see what know about these sorts of problems.

U seemed to have almost nailed it on the head there Vicarrah my old freind. When pilots wanted to fight i was mostly 1st on list to lead them, when i was mining for my bs i got numerous mails bout when am i going to be back fighting. Even more wanted me in diff fields of combat. I am only 1 pilot so spreading myself over several diff areas in 1 day is going too far, thing was i got moaned at for not doing the other things i could'nt do at the time. So hard to plz everyone, an even harder when ur not supported 100%. Few understand all the pressures forced down upon me all the time. Even fewer understand the proper reasons i left PFM/PRM, an very few will understand y i am here now. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'd like to know why you left us, would you care to tell me?
Maybe we should use your story to frighten our children into behaving: "Do your chores or Kal Cyann will get you!" heh. Or maybe not.

No answer is nessecary, my son. We all have our reasons for doing what we do.
Remember this well, in a time when there was no effective cloning technolgy to keep us going. No Jovian pods to single handly pilot hastly rigged Scythe cruiser, your ancestors were fighting and loosing their very lives, without coming back as clones, so that you could have the freedom to make the choice you have done.
I may not like it, but it is what we and your forefathers fought and died for on the battle field. They died and suffered grief so that you could have the freedom to bring down war upon your brothers and grief upon others, for whatever reasons you may have for doing so.
I ask for no explanation, only that you make the best of your freedom... and the price it cost for you to have it. I believe you already know this as you have fought for freedom yourself with the Peoples Front of Minmitar... I belive you Kal are closer to knowing this than most.
I pray that one day you will return to the light. In the meantime... I wish I could wish you well, but I cannot as you have taken the path of profiteering at the expense of another's grief and pain... as do the Amarrian's who enslave us and the treachorous San Matari who betray us to their masters.

Hah! This should be interesting. You'll find that warfare and piloting has changed a lot since your war years Corin. And I doubt an old dog like you can learn new tricks. I can see you now, flying into battle with you well armed....

well well well, an interesting situation we have here no doubt.
Kal, I think you've made the best decision, given the circumstances, I wish you luck.
Corin, what can I say. Your very name makes me tremble, your visage haunts my dreams and drives me to fight, the stuff of legends whispers around you like the ghosts of our forebears. I wept when you disappeared, for it seemed the rebellion had lost its vanguard, and I had lost my hero. If you need equipment or training, please let me know, and I will endeavour to help in any way possible.

I was but one man out of thousands, Vicarrah. I owe my life to those who fell. I survived... and yet I left the battle field when this so called Minmitar Republic was finally established. I realise now that my depature was too soon, I should have stayed on.
When lying in my hospital bed, I was surrounded by 4 white walls. I thought to myself... "Is this how I want it to end?"
No. I am Matari.. but more than that I am a warrior and one of the few survivors of a glorious age of Matari. We shall bring that age back again and remember, with honour, the true heros of Matar, of yesteryear, today and tommorow.
Hail Freedom! Hail Matari!

Words spoken by a Warrior from a long line of Warriors, words that should settle an linger in all true matari warriors. I know of what u speak, more so than i care to realise, because of my past. Without looking inside myself i lost sight of what i was becoming an what was i leaving behind. I myself looked at myself after the last few days of darkness an asked myself the same question an the whispers an words that came to me began to haunt an torment me with there meaning. A conversation with an old freind regarding all i was feeling, an what was going off, made me look deeper inside myself an i shaw that not only had i betreyed those who trusted me the most i had betreyed myself.
AN i know of the days of old, i was born of an older generation than most an lsot my family to a maggot attack before clones were even under devlopement.
An to the maggot known as ticket master i have gone back to my roots, back to where it all began. Back to the focal point of all my hatered for the past. An i won't be jsut talking bout events i will be making them.
I am a warrior, an a warriors place is on the battlefield anthat is where u will find me once more... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I look forward to your efforts. If it takes an old, godless codjer to bring you back to the terrorist fold, then you'll die as pathectically as Corin lived.

And Ticket Master, be warned. You are treading near an old fire that never goes out. The fire dims with time, maybe even reduced to glowing embers. But it only takes one poke with a sharp stick to flare up again. Beware where you poke your sharp stick Ticket Master, lest you get burned. ------
