Anyone else have a strange habit of loving to watch generally terrible sci fi movies. For some reason films such as:
Judge Dredd Demolition Man Doom
I KNOW i should hate them, i KNOW the world would be a better place without them......but god i just LOVE watching them!

Vanilla Sky. First it's an americanization, getting roped in easy. Second it has Penelope Cruz in it and Tom Cruise, can't stand them and still somehow I think the movie is great.

All 3 really. But, I must shamefully admit, that I just watched Starship Troopers 1, 2 and 3 in a row. Yes, they made 3. -----------------------------------------------

What's to like in Doom (the movie)?
not a bad movie if you haven't played the games... but totally screws with the Doom universe if you have (which I'm guessing most Eve players have)...
the other two I do like though
Can't think of anything to add to the list though.

I watch shitty romantic comedies ("Dedication" was the last one I saw and it was ****ing terrible). I don't even like them but I keep watching them.
I also like awful pulpy sci fi movies. I watched Escape from LA the other day even though I knew it was going to be terrible. Seeing Kurt Russel leap from a surf board onto an open top Cadilac in motion totally made it worth my time.
80s actioners too. I own the two DVD version of Predator. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

Huh? Predator is a great movie, a classic.
I'm a sucker for anything sci-fi. If it's bad, but set in space, it's good. Dystopian future earth settings work great too.
But the problem is I've been watching movies for quite a few years now, and the pagiarisation is starting to get to me. So many of the new movies are nothing but bleak copies of older ones, recycled ideas, characters, settings and so forth.
Like that new one with the chick kicking ass in sealed off Scotland. Yeah, it had tribute in it, but mostly it was just copy-paste, not done very well. Still, as much as I hate to admit it, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

You just named some of my favorites.
And Demolition Man? Totally awesome if you view it in the proper light. It's not a serious film, but something I'm sure that Pratchett envies.
And Hudson Hawk? See above.

I think Demolition Man was a pretty good, fun film.
Dredd. Well, nice attempt but I see it like the original Batman movies. As in that hopefully someone will realise there is a wonderfully ftory to be told, then pick it up, wipe the slate totally clean, and do it again properly.
... but then I'm a big Dredd fan, as any Dredd fan will know from my name!

It's a decent movie. Not horrible, not serious. Quite enjoyable, but not so good that you can honestly say you loved it. Yet I did.
