Not entirely unexpected. Goons have a lot of sway in EVE politics.
Otherwise, mittens' reign came out with some good changed in EVE. If the goons hadn't put a bounty on my shiny new T2 ship just after I was able to buy the thing, I'd probably have voted for him as well.
Goon interdiction lead to me making a lot of ISK during the breaks in it.
And goons are good to their newbies, unlike most of the rest of EVE. |

The Mittani didn't win. Our exit polls show that he had a relatively low number of votes even amongst Goons. This means that a larger than expect number of pubbies voted for him, which is impossible as they all hate goons and are unable to seperate The Mittani's in game character from his real life persona as a member of CSM.
Its obvious that CCP rigged the results.
If you look at Mittani's competition you can see why. CCP's developers have gotten used to having an effective CSM around to act as a sanity check against all the idiotic things CCP's management comes up. If you look at most of the other candidates for the CSM you see the problem: A table full of spergy shutins that get sweaty at the thought of having to interact with another human being the flesh; single niche issue candidates that will focus only on their particular fetish like game activity. Riverini and that other luncatic, Xenuria or however you spell it.
CCP is just covering their asses by screwing us out of our votes. |

I sent out 3 Buddy program invites to myself and then bought 3 PLEX's from the market and used them to activate them. I then used those 3 accounts to invite 3 more and activated those 3 using PLEX's gained by activating the first 3. I repeted this until I had enough accounts to vote for mittani 80527 times.
I resold the PLEX's I got from the last 3 accounts for a tidy profit. |
