Hi, i've read every posts on this forum but i have one more question.
If the BPO's are given by agents, there are no advantage on having a research on the best agent since i will be "competing" with players doing the same agent and getting the same ammount of RP's. Is this correct?

Yes, they are only sold by players, since they are given by agent rewards or offers or loot (not sure wich one), to get a good price check markets of other regions, the prices may be very diferent from each region.

Started my first research project the other day and so far my agent hasn't given me any missions. I had understood that research agents gave you optional missions that would give you RP point bonuses. Am I wrong?

The RnD skill books drop from Silence the informant L3, they are in the pleasure hub/habitat, been awhile since iv done the mish so it might have changed.
Vlad = go back and talk to the project agent again and it should start giving you the daily mission emails

Ok so, I've now got 5 R&D agents, one I've just started with next to no RP, 3 that have between 1000 - 2000 and my first one is now on 3500(ish)
I'm quite happy travelling from one end of the Galaxy to the other, but now all I'm waiting/praying/slaughtering lambs for sacrifice in the vain hope of a bpo.
Is there any point in me carrying on this task or should all hope be lost and carry on with just doing T1 production?

Invention is coming in "soon".
when you take a T1 BPC, some Datacores, a Data Interface and some optional stuff like tech 1 items and Decryptors then mix it all up and hope that they output a tech 2 BPC.
Also there will be new T2 items seeded at some point, so yea keep the agents going but you DONT have to do the daily missions.

But how is the lottery made?
They take all the tickets from all the agents for the same corp and same field of research and do the lottery or make separate lotterys from each agent?

in the meantime i suggest everyone work across the board and build as many different agent standings and corps as u can Kali might bring some benefits.

Nope, you have to get the standing up. Either R&D corp standing to a high level or faction standing to the same high level and just some of R&D corp standing. Check the R&D agent, it's all in the info.

Impossible at the moment as courier missions are disabled. Should be back in the next patch, barring major snafus.
That's bad new if you can't run combat missions, but excellent news if you can, as current courier agents give out only combat missions. As is, combat missions give more increase in standing and have better ISK/hour than courier missions of same level pre-Dragon patch.

@Fitzmaurice: There is no cost for BPOs offer. You take it or not. Whatever your RPs are you loose all of them if you take the BPO.
@Phoenix9bird: You'll have to do missions for the corporation of the agent of your interest. For instance (if you are a SM addict), go and do some missions for Carthum Conglomerate and get access to their first R&D agent after some time.
Doing more missions for them will give you access to highter level agents.
@Harmaki: IIRC it's laser physics. Check directly in the agent's attributes.
@Vladmir Zhukov: Missions are optionnal indeed. You just get more RPs if you complete them. Be aware that it might cost you a bit, as you will have to buy things for the agent in order to complete missions.
@siyah monner: keep on...Just don't do missions for the agent ^^
@Paul Darth: Only Devs know (maybe)

I have had my agent for a while now and all i ever got of him was we have hit a snag Bull*&%* mail ive got over 11k points with him now and now ive read about that if it says nothing easily predictable it means that he hasnt got any thing any way
what a waste of time

In the formula for RP/day there is a multiplier for certain fields of research. Does anybody know why there is that multiplier?

I think it's funny ZINJAN but it is possible to recieve a implant by a lvl.1 agent. I recieved a standard +1 charisma implant as a reward. my security status is 0.0. I was reading this for information on how to raise my status because I feel I have done a million missions with the same agent and haven't raised anything but my blood pressure. other than that nice post!

So after reading all the pages my question(s)...
1. I get the jist that T2 BPO are "random", however there was mention that T1 BPO's are granted as well. So how often is this or are we back to "random"?
2. Does this include Capital ships and the like...example Freightor afaik is considered a Capital ship but not so much in the way of T2

There is a lot of great information here, but the thread is almost two years old and much has changed in EVE. Are T2 blueprints still being given out, or are R&D agents all but obsolete today? Can anyone point out which information is still valid/invalid? |

An update to this thread would be great with all the new changes to R&D, with regard to Invention. Stuff like the datacores and all the requirements for inventing with a BPC.
It wouldn't need to be a guide on Invention itself, bt info on getting ahold of the bits for Invention, plus RP costs, etc. would be nice.

I have a question... I had understood that if you were researching for an Agent, and you had earned R&P points, switching to another agent would make you loose those points... But I read there is people that have several R&D's agents... How is this possible?
Is it that you can have several R&D agents, as long as you research DIFFERENT skills, or is it the other way around, and it has to be the same skill?

There's a skill that let's you use more than one research agent. Research project management i think.

What if you lose standings to your R&D agent once you've already begun research? Like by doing missions for other alliances etc..
Will you keep getting rp everyday?
Will you keep getting offered +rp missions?
If you cash out datacores can you keep researching?
If you cash out for a t2 BPO can you restart research?

What's happened to RD agents? Why do they have "Nothing easily predictable"? Does it mean that bods now own t2 bpos, and you, other guys, s*ck and waste your money on decriptors and the stuff?

happened to me :)
you get RP every day, even can do the missions for +RP, just can't buy datacores. Don't know about T2 BPO, didn't got an offer :(
Just grind back the standing, and everything returns to normal.

So, why is there a level 5 R&D agent listed in the OP? I have also seen it in eve-agents.com...
Can someone explain this to me? Did they remove level 5 R&D agents sometime? Or is level 5 because of some efffective quality?  |
