Having been around the game for nearly 4 years, I knew better and set a multi day skill for each character. Lesson learned eh? Never expect the server to be up when they originally say it will be. Always plan for problems. In fact, I can't recall a patch that went relatively smoothly. Always problems getting the hamsters back onto the wheels, someone uses the server outlet while vacuuming, random vital system files disappearing, things like that. I, for one, plan to lament the fact that I got fired this morning from my job, and bring several people to violent ends in grand theft auto, rather than real life. Seems to be less jail time involved doing it in a game...

This thread reminds me of those I used to see on a worldwide-spread-MMO-which-isn't-good-to-even-mention's forums. Just like at every patches, if i remember correctly.
Please, Dear Eve community, take care about not reproducing other MMO's community's crappy things. Cuz people hate them now.

If my client is 58188 its up to date and the message that my client is incompatible with the version which the server is running is.... incorrect or correct and i suck at the capability to update a freaking game.
