Way too obvious, not very creative, annoyance factor not even enough to give a ranty reply (already missing a sure +1 there).

OP is a failpost. Mostly covered above on why.
And whining about other players not doing exactly what you like? GASP! They are people, for the most part, more articulate than you, and who are not nearly as whiny.

p.s. Mining barges are supposed to be vulnerable. Make some friends and get them to look after you/rat in the same system . I mean I know the media stereotype gamers as socially incompatible neanderthals, but you don't have to take the **** now do you?

fixed.
We've been down that road before. What we got was T2 barges with only enough to tank a 0.4 rat spawn and not a great deal more once the essential stuff for mining is fitted. I'm not talking about mining upgrades etc, just the T2 lasers and a tank. If you can fit a respectable tank on it then you obviously have uber combat skills but the average industrialist doesn't train those until after the industrial skills. Now consider how many industrial skills there are just for mining/refining alone to get the best from a yield and you're looking at a three year wait before a miner can fit a tank worth shit.
Then we have the uber slow gank target although I believe they renamed it to the freighter to hide the obvious. This is a ship with "GANK ME" written all over it in big bold italic letters. It's huge, painfully slow, warps at walking speed and has all the agility of the average housebrick. It has no offensive capability and no defensive capability making it a magnet for every suicide ganker in the universe. This is a ship designed to move huge amounts and even a full cargo of the cheapest item (tritanium) 78 million units, means a 250+ million isk haul. What's the point in having a ship that size if you don't fill it up? You may as well use a Transport ship for smaller amounts. This is a ship that can't even fit a single shield booster for defence so, no matter how many escorts you have, it is called primary and if Concord can't save one, your escort has no chance, say bye bye to 500 million isk of corp funds after insurance payout, (including the cost of insurance that is), and whatever cargo you were carrying, so that's in excess of a billion isk your corp has just lost in total.
That brings me to Jump Freighters. Still big, still painfully slow and still all the agility of a housebrick and still no offence or defence but now with an added cyno beacon to notify everyone where it is.
Finally, there's the Rorqual. Big, painfully slow, no offensive capability except a few drones that can be popped by anyone with a couple of SP. At least it has some form of defence though, maybe CCP are actually learning something.
Yup, CCP really gave something to the industrialist... A huge target to paint on their backs.
Honestly, nobody in their right mind would build a ship to fly in a combat zone that has no way to defend itself. Why would the denizens of Eve build a ship large enough to carry everything they owned and not even had a shield booster fitted on it?

It's somewhat strange that at the one moment people scream for "give us a patch that fixes bugs instead of introduce new content", yet at the other moment - when such a patch is released - it's called a useless patch.
There you go: there's no pleasing the EVE community.

Do you even play this game
My hulk alt can tank 0.0 spawns and has almost no combat training and all you need is refinery eff 5 and 50% station and youve almost got 100% refine yield

It takes so many ships to gank a freighter before concord pops you that this almost NEVER happens the hp buffer is huge even if its non resisted, its extremly difficult to gank. They are only slightly less maneuverable than most caps, and are actualy extremely difficult to kill since you can basicaly insta-warp them by webbing them.

Jump freighters are incredibly more agile than freighters then anshar and nomad align faster than my carrier.

by that logic carriers have no offensive ability

Just this week the British armed forces, with the help of their allies, had to transport a Chinese build hydro-electric power generator through Taliban held territory for over 150 miles.
They used trucks that carried no guns, hardly any armour, which drove slowly, and apparently broke down several times. They also used about a hundred other vehicles, scouts, and air cover throughout the mission. Preceding it, different routes were scouted, and hundreds of hours of planning where done to get the generator safe at it's destination.
Eventually, in a mission that lasted several days, they did it, and the generator is now being installed.
Maybe this will teach you something. Something about using scouts. Doing some planning. Having escorts and backup. Performing sweeps and clearing out the enemy.
But probably it will not. Probably you'll just whine harder and harder. All in the vain hope that you'll be able to do just the same in a freighter without the possibility of attack.
Believe me, it will never happen. And EVE, and the vast majority of the players are very grateful for that.
Now, march off to sickbay to get your discharge papers. You're not worthy of being an EVE player. -- Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? |

I am doubting I would be considered a carebear. What this patch does do in one aspect of PvP (suicide ganking) is it takes your free lunch away from you and makes you have to plan, think, and work a bit harder for your lunch. I don't agree with everything done in the patch, but I do agree that the virtually no-risk suicide gank had to be eliminated and I have profited from it myself. When I can go up to any hualer and gank him in my fully insured ship, get all my insurance back, all his loot and fittings that dropped and still have really good standings, and be far richer with so little risk... something is broken.
I think your upset because your free ride isn't free anymore. You have screamed many times in other threads that suicide ganking has been killed but it hasn't. You can still gank someone. The cold harsh world you love is still cold and harsh... the difference is, the cold and harsh just landed on you as well. Thats the truth of your whines. You wanted eve on easy mode for your ganks and now, it's not so easy anymore and you need to pick and choose a bit more discriminatly to make your fat profits.
Your a sad sad individual.
let me lay it out in easy mode for you....
1. You used to gank with little or no consequences or cost. 2. You got fat and lazy from doing it, not to mention rich. 3. CCP ganked your "Ganking on Easy Mode" and made it a bit riskier for you now. 4. Your whining and trolling because your a fat lazy slob who got his easy ride taken away from him. 5. I disagree that it's useless. A lot of bug fixes and other qol changes got meted out. Thanks for these devs.
Quote: Droves of Macrominers are a crucial part of the game. Without it, there will be no resources to manufacture all the ammunitions consumed or to build the ships.
Fixed.
Though I agree that most if not all mining vessels have crap grid, weak tanks, are painfully slow and have limited drone space if at all. Mining as a profession has gone downhill due to the Drone regions, crap t1 rat drops, swarms of macrominers, and still crappy ships.
The fact that people mine in Rohks and other BS has always, and still, highlights the need for a hazrd duty miner.
Yup they mine in rokhs... and I kill the rokhs.
