I kinda feel like i have done all eve has to offer now, but for some reson i still play. I dont want to quit cause the game is growing and i have a feeling the the best is yet to come (shiva)and i've made a lot of friends playing this game.
what i would like to know is how a lot of vetran players keap interested in eve after all this time? ----------------------------------------------- Life is like a long poo that you have to take a bite of every day |

Try different things. I guess speaking for myself, there is much of eve I have not tried yet and I experiment with when no corp-mates are online (ie..exploration, hunting NPC BSs, Trading on the market, take a player-controlled station in deep space, get into one fleet battle, etc..).
If you've tried all that and are still bored, then maybe just wait around for Shiva? ------------------------------------------------

For me it's clearly shiva that keeps me interested in the game. I think there are numerous nice enhancements to be added to the game.

I must agree, i feel i have been through everything in eve, ingame and built by players....
Got a scorpion 3rd week playing, joined GW alliance and started to fight CA, got borged by Tyrell, then found out they were only using my pilots to kill people... left, joined FA, got ****** over by Xanadu... left joined Rev0luti0n hit FA hard... then i joined CA...
Iv been through everything lol, but the thing that keeps me going is... coffee... and killing SA... those are things i cannot do without. ________________ Aneu Angellus Vengeance Of The Fallen - WolfPack Military Captain

Well this char was born 4 days after EVE went live.. I have 10mill skill points but the whole thing is still fun to me.. YES even Ore mining
I do find it surprising that many people are bored..
BUt as with everything each person is different and has different ways to play and things they find enjoying :) --------------------------------- No Slugs were harmed in the creation of this signature --------------------------------- |

been playing since launch (with one break before Castor). I have no idea why im still playing, or why i'll continue to...
I think the thing about eve is that unlike games such as privateer, freelancer etc. where you end up with the best ship, best guns etc. is that in eve there will always be one person better than you, someone to compete against, someone to help or hurt, and theres always the carrot of the next patch...

I felt the same way. Pretty much done everything there is to do in the game. I decided to start from scratch again, with the same chatacter that is. Made a new corp, some friends joined me and now we are back in frigates and cruisers in Empire space doing it all over again. We are having a blast.
The difference now is, we know how the game works and what to do and, more importantly, what not to do.

I just keep doing what i keep doin tbh, I cant get enough of this game. However if I feel a little burned out with it all, I just take a few days off to do some other stuff. Maybe a couple of weeks off might help ya Sass Arcane Technologies |

I have played for about 3 months now, and I like the game still. Still haven’t really got bored of mining, or hunting NPC Pirates.
I really look forward to Shiva, it looks amazing.

Take some time off. It worked for me. Train something better than Long Range Targeting 5 tho (oh why did I not get Surg Strike 5 instead?).

Leave your alliance and go for it on your own or in an unaffiliated corporation.
Alliances are end game.

hmm lets see,
Joined game after being in beta a month or so after it went live. Started up an item sales division for my old corp which grew to span 9 regions. Eventually became a director and the corp joined CFS. Took part in the politics of alliances for the latter part of last year. Was in the first few ships to engage the first big CA invasion of the "fix" and got myself in EVE Guardian (i was that Vigil pilot).
After a while we join the Stain Allinace around the time Omega were being thrown out. I moved to stain to co-ordinate deep space ops for 4 months. I took part in fleet action and engrossed myself in the murky depths of interalliance politics. After i while my servies were needed back in empire this combined with the merging into two other allied corps. So i went back to my specialism of item sales, which i have been doing until now.
I've not mined a single day since beta. I've done a total of 30 agent missions in 11 months. Ive spent 7 months doing item sales and 4 months doing pvp and deep space hauling.
I'm presently going back to live in 0.0 to build on our present operations there and to further advance the cause of our alliance.
I have sooooooooo much i've not even touched on in EVE. So many aspects to enjoy. I could never see myself getting bored with such a complete gaming world. No single log in is ever the same.
EVE is what you make it.
If your bored, just make things more interesting.

Sit in a station, sell battleships and get richer every moment, hoping someday I will be able to use the money to buy a station.

All the activities in a corporation I guess, just create a vision for yours, and take initiative in implementing it :-)
Roleplaying can help quite a deal, but it too takes some effort of course.

Hey I totally understand what you mean/feel...I'm always bored with EvE I have done everything seriously..from mining to pirating productions/research/ even missions.. but I find things to keep me bz...I either just train up skills when I'm bored and hope for something better in the future or play with a alt char..
But I think your right on it will get better hopefully when shiva comes out..and if it isnt what it seems to be like then..I'll hang it up...but bythen HL2 will be out.

I don't play as much as I did in the first 7 months I played. No I grab a probe and mammoth and go with my CEO to a secluded 0.0 and pick up his cans that he leaves in belts because it costs him money to stop the NPC carnage and collect cans. 1 battleship bought outright in 2 weekends worth of salvage (about 10 hours total.) Take a breath of fresh air and try a game like Jedi Academy. That game will make you run back to eve with statements like, "OMFG I don't believe there is a company with more development issues than CCP." And we might not be as mad at CCP for delayed patches after we see the current state of most games that are just cash cow 1 month on shelf then belly up products. -----

Do something crazy, like killing off your 8 month old character with 10+ mill skill points and start over. Yes, I did that.
No worries though, have a little over 2 mill skill points now and having a blast again.
A little extreme I know but was worth it imo, my old version of Rine had bad perception (even with implants) and now my attributes are more balanced and I have a better character...
