Hi guys,
I'm currently in the proccess of getting my standings up with the Amarr empire so I can do COSMOS missions and the quickest way to do this would be story-line missions. Now, my problem is, I need to spawn story-lines to begin with.
Currently I've done 16 "event" courier missions in Domain which lead me in a big loop and I just start again. In the journal description it says its a story-line mission yet I dont get the associated standings increase so I can only assume this is a mistake in the description as I have made a little progress since I started, 0.02 increase, which is hardly worth talking about.
So I have 3 questions;
1) How often do story-line missions spawn,
2) Do "event" missions spawn story-lines and
3) Do all consecutive missions need to be done within the same down-time?

You need to run 16 missions of the same level to get a storyline mission.

Same level, for the same faction. It will be the 17th mission, and does not have to come from the corp you were running, but it will be the same faction.
Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

I realise that I need to do 16 consecutive missions of the same level but I reffer to my second question, do "event" missions spawn story-lines? Technically, they are not listed as a level at all, instead of it saying "Level 2 Quality -20" (for example) it just says "event".

When you have completed 16 missions of the same level, you will get referred to the closest event agent and be provided a storyline/important mission of the appropriate level. This even agent will not necessarily belong to the same corporation as the agent you were previously doing missions for.

OP, i know what you mean, the 'event' agents. i too have been running a few of them around domain, but with no significant standing improvements. i have simply found that by running the normal lvl 1-4 empire missions, and completing the storyline agents as they come (correct, every 17th mission), i have obtained enough standing to complete various COSMOS missions. try Port Maphante - Garisas system. Its tough, 8 battleships, many BCs, Cs and scram frigs, but its fun!! :D gl
btw, check out http://wiki.triangle-solutions.com/index.php/EVE_COSMOS_Missions for a list of missions and their agents, then use http://www.evegeek.com/agent.php to see if you've got the standings to enter the COSMOS mission area
