To add my two ISK:
So far, in the game, the cruisers been pretty much the "red headed step child". Not fast/cheap enough compared to frigates and not powerful enough, compared to battleships. So really - so far PvP has been all about frigates and battleships. Cruisers fall somewhere in the middle, and they excel at nothing. The fact that cruisers still doesn't get 2 bonuses like every other ship type does, has just left them out of the loop for the PvP part of the game.
I, for one, hopes that that will change in the future.

while i agree with the mining point, there is a slight fault with what you say.

and i think the caracal will still be good after the patch, though clearly not as good. keep meaning to try it on chaos.
i do think its a shame that CMs are to be removed from cruisers, but i guess for balance reasons it is needed.
Actually man, no you're wrong because if you start using Torps to take out Drones that are orbiting you, you'll do yourself even more damage than the drones are and the end result is the same. Thorax wins.

well thats true if u use msl and smartbombs at the same time... but if ur on the task of killing drones at shortranges, what would be the use of using msls?
kill the drones with the smartie and then start up the msl-launchers again.... just my input...

yea but hwne u get close range to kill drones then the thorax pilot has u right where he wants u if he has blasters.

for me launchers are the difference maker in battle and the carcal has 5 difference makers lol for npc there is no better cruiser in my opinion if you use your head

I was having this discussion with a corp mate ..thorax vs moa last night ..and i personally think that it goes downs to your skills ...theres just tooo many plusses and negatives to take into account when it comes down to comparing cruisers against cruisers
