2.) "Nice" and "Good" are not mutually exclusive. They may be "nice". But they are too "bad" to hold space.
3.) If someone is ratting in a system, then I tend to ask them if it doesn't have 50 belts. So I would appreciate it if you would not talk down to us, based on whatever forum posts you may have seen.
I find it amusing that the people who have spent the last few years making themselves the most hated entity in gaming... and I'm not talking about just EVE, can sit here and spout this crap.
In every game that goons play there are entities who form for no other reason than to kill goons because they makes such assess of themselves.
@the OP: Pure may be nice guys internally, but externally they are just as smackmouthed as anyone else in EVE. Signature removed. Please note that all signatures must conform to forum rules and be no larger than 400-120 pixels with a maximum filesize of 24000 bytes. Navigator |

Originally by: Christina Bamar BoB considers it fun to go and invade someone, pure does not. This is the fundamental reason why one is having more success than the other. Over and over again throughout the game, all other things aside, the more aggressive organization tends to out-do the more passive one. The passive side gets tired of constant fighting, wants breaks, and gradually loses numbers, slowly becoming less and less effective, while the aggressive side thrives off of the conflict, maintaining their numbers, and having more and more success. It's not that one side is "good" and the other isn't, it's that they enjoy the type of gameplay that leads to 0.0 success (namely constant warfare) while you and your friends do not.
Christina has it exactly right, and exposes the fundamental contradiction in what the OP is trying to pass off.
If Pure is so "nice,'' were they NRDS? Were they welcoming all and sundry to come enjoy the fruits of their space? For that matter, if they are so "nice," why were they claiming sovereignity in 0.0 in the first place? Isn't the idea that this is my space and not anyone else's a bit selfish?
Of course it is. And that is what Eve is supposed to be all about: rival groups duking it out for power. Read the Eve novel. What makes this universe go 'round are raw power and the leaders with the ability to create, mold and exert it. According to the official story, blackmail, betrayal, deception and raw force determine what happens in Eve, and that's just in Empire!
The upshot is that Pure, and the rest of the Northern Coalition, understood this all perfectly. What they, including the original poster, have tried to do is whip up a sophisticated public relations campaign to attempt to convince Eve players that people who fail to protect themselves are "nice guys" and that everyone else are ruthless bad guys.
The reality is that Pure is no "nicer" than anyone else. They have simply proven less capable within the context of the game, and within the subtype of the game (0.0), they have chosen to play.
Unlike other MMOs, Eve is meant at its core to be competitive, to be about groups of players being able to influence the experience of other users. That may mean militarily, culturally or economically. Those who fail to compete are not "nicer." They are just failing to compete.
Other games insulate players from one another. In most MMO's, one player has little or no ability to interfere with what other players can do. Millions of people seem to prefer that.
But for those who do not, there is Eve. Don't try to pass off people who are playing less successfully as the "nice guys." It's demeaning to them, and it's demeaning to the game itself.

Normally, I don't post in CAOD-related threads, but I just happen to have an answer to a few things mentioned here:

Thread title is a big clue.
Further reading of that thread will give you the "anyone in a position of authority" bit, as well as confirming pretty much all the negative stuff posted about the Goons here.

You can say what you'd like, but the simple fact is you are basing it on hearsay, and internet rage. If you went and posted on SA, I am sure you would get a much better understanding of Goons.
On the risk of falling for another joke of yours...
You spent alot of effort to get the image that you now have and now suddenly you want to be perceived differently?
