It's so sweet when all the Unistas (ex or otherwise) can huddle and bah together.

Lots of options and offers in this game, if my inbox is any indication.
The Uni's impact on this game is player retention. It doesn't go much beyond that. (There are a few ex-Unistas who've made famous impacts on the game beyond highsec, but not many. The Uni does teach that there's safety in obscurity. This particular no-SOP stunt goes against that grain, but when the directors have proven their point and the students have stopped questioning them, it's back to flying under the radar.) So far it seems to have worked out pretty good for the uni. RVB, SSC and Skunk Works seem to have brought gudfites instead of docking game, neut RR lameness, these are the kind of wars the uni actually likes (because they get to actually fight instead of playing docking games with 1 guy and his neut RR alts) |

As said above, fun start with Shen canflipping a euni guy 2 hours before the war went live, for a first kill. RvB had formed up some time earlier in the day moving resources and scouting out Euni's home turf, the vast majority of rvb were just a little excited about being decc'd by the uni, so the fleet started forming SEVEN hour's before the kick off.
Around 1900hr's Eve time the Purple fleet rolled out from the alikara gate in Vellaine with just under 100 pilot's. Taking the fast track to Hek, Rancer was quiet as we rolled on by.
On hitting Hek we picked up a few more straggler's and set about spamming local with Justin Bieber while sorting out clones and extra frigates. Dear gods, Hek is a terrible market hub, much akin to those shopping villages where instead of being cheaper they are in fact that little bit more expensive.
The War goes live and our little fleet move's out, destination: Aldrat, threats of us murdering our own by now has the fleet working like a kind of well oiled machine.
Intel inform's us of the Euni also having a similar size fleet, and they've warped to the out gate from there pos at optimals, with this not being a Ganked fleet (Rifter hull's this weekend coming btw), we choose not to jump in blindly to glorious death, and go to optimals the other side, two can play this game. After some shenanigan's on rvb's part they buggar off and we jump in, and get off gate, They's at the Pos, and we're not up for assaulting a deathstar.
Cue the brave Gibson Thunderbird in his Raven for Euni being baited by one of our lads on the undock of Euni hq
RvB Purple fleet lands around twenty seconds before Euni fleet does, all at ZERO..
http://redfed.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10667469
Good fight's thrown out in local, and I for once escaped in structure as Euni warped out from the brawl. |

Hey man let me give you a tip real quick (just the tip I swear):
Your name makes you a potential posting superstar so you need to get out there and post some posts. I mean, you've got a name so edgy that it could leave your lame ass in the dust and go write lyrics for Green Day. Just one day out of the blue, you could wake up to find bad poetry written on your walls in Manic Panic hair dyeGÇöthat's how edgy your name is. While you've got control of it, you need to abuse the living hell out of it because one day it's going to wise up and then you're just going to be a greasy stain on the side of a bag of Cheetohs. Are you listening to me? Don't doubt a Goon who's telling you about Cheetohs, we are all over that and got it on lock.
Secondly and more pertinent to the post, I just wanted to let you know that I gave you a +rep +1 +Like whatever you want to call it. What I am trying to say is that I liked your spacebook post here on the forums DOT eveonline DOT com, and I want you to keep posting; but, I think you could use some pointers. See, you went out and flat-out said in one post what I was implying through several posts. I mean yeah you're way more clever than the average brain-dead idiot lurking in this forum (no sarcasm), and that's good for you; but, the best way to feel smug about everything you do and say is to be slightly above your audience so that they don't know whether you just killed that bird in the cage or shoved it up your ass at the last second. This is just me trying to be helpful, feel free to completely ignore this advice and take the low road towards instant laughs but if you ever want to graduate to ice burns of masterstroke quality then sooner or later you need to go into Icecrown Citadel and recover all of the shards of Shadowmourne. |

The Uni is admirably holding its own.
http://killboard.eveuniversity.org/
I think they can still manage getting a 50% efficiency rating out of this whole stunt.
And I'd bet the Unistas that stayed for the wars are having far more fun than they've ever had in the University. Kelduum should consider dropping the WSOP more often (and advertising it.) If he was hoping to convince that boring people to death was the right move during wardecs, I can't see how these last two days have been making the case for him. I'm not so sure this is the lesson the directors were hoping to teach -- that wars are to be made as dull and boring as possible, so that we don't get any. So, far it sounds like the students (minus Yulan Kai) have been having the most fun they've had in months (maybe a couple years for some.)

Eleven wardecs and counting, and more PvP in the last 24 hours than in the last 6 months of wardecs.
Barring a single silly loss (really, a faction fit pirate ship, undocking into a camp by The Orphanage?) we'd be positive on ISK efficiency, and the members are all finally getting some decent PvP practice, and with wardecs from some Alumni corps, the members are also learning why opsec is important.
Also, Sansha Kuvakei seems to be trying to get involved too, and has decided to try and stage an incursion here, making things even more interesting. Kelduum Revaan CEO, EVE University |

Confirming isk efficiency is all that matters.
I always keep up on the uni's killboard activity and it's nice to see some actual fighting going on rather, than as has been said, the usual docking games. All of those on the wardec list seem to be bringing in fleets for fights and everyone is enjoying themselves. There also does not seem to be many "silly" losses either, far less than nullsec alliances normally have from their empire griefdecs. I think this would be an encouraging factor in deciding to rethink the WSOP, however, I imagine if this did happen then people would become complacent and that the uni's success this week could be put down mainly to lots of hype and also something new to do.
Anyway, grats to the uni for having fun and grats to the wardecced/wardeccing corps for actually bringing good fights. Good to see a thread intended to be an insult become a thread depicting the uni in a good light. |

I'm not anti-University. Never have been. Never will be.
I'm anti-hypocrisy and anti-contradiction in their rulesets (Covert Ops Certification, for one.) I understand the need for their WSOP under certain circumstances. I also understand why the WSOP should be dropped from time to time. I mentioned this directly to Kelduum a couple months back. I then wrote about it publicly -- to drop the WSOP during non-faildecs, to teach proper PvP and to teach how to operate under a wardec.. University management, in all their "wisdom", rejected the idea, until now.
My butt-hurt comes from the fact that I was kicked from the Uni for basically talking about the problems with the Uni rules in a public forum. Apparently that sort of thing threatens the directorship hierarchy. Whatever though. I always feel it is best to get ideas out into the open, not let them be buried under bureaucracy and politics (of which the University has in bucket loads.) (I was kicked before the University as an NPC Corp posts, that bit of trollishness and vindictiveness came afterwards.)
I think the University will be hard-pressed, after this month is up, to return to the same old boring formula of WSOP for every wardec (relaxed WSOP for faildecs.) People are having too much fun.
Kudos to the amazing time everyone is now having with all the fleet battles in and around Aldrat. Hopefully this leads to some really meaningful changes in how the University applies their WSOP in the future.
(I think I may pop by Aldrat in a newb ship and a clean clone, flit around some of the fleet battles, see who, in a fit of rawr rage will pop me for the CONCORDOKKEN, the security status loss, and the free month long kill rights. I'm sure some dumbass will want to look the hero for the penalties. *grin*) What God Wants, God Gets, God Help Us All |

Well judging by this thread and the various other threads/comments you certainly come across not only as butthurt and mad but also obsessive.
First of all E-Uni is a corporation owned and ran by player(s). It's up to them what their policies are and how to run their corp. It isn't a CCP establishment, or some other kind of 'owned by the system' thing. The CEO, directors and many managers and officers of E-Uni put a lot of their time and effort into the running of it. I'm the CEO of a small 100man+ corp and let me tell you something, just on this 100man corp there is a hell of a lot of organizing, drama, etc etc, I can't imagine how much of a headache it must be trying to run a 1500+ man corp. Regardless of what you think or say about them, or what the other idiotic lowsec pirate nubbins say, E-Uni does a good job of helping new pilots get to grips with many of the different areas of EVE and they produce competent pilots who then go on to nullsec or W-Space, or even lowsec, and they are generally a much better quality of new player.
Before I am accused of being a Kelduum suck up let me explain that I left the uni because I disagreed with certain directors and certain decisions that had been made, or were being made, at the time. At that point I had gotten as much out of the uni as possible and instead of becoming a drama llama I simply moved on. It wasn't my place to criticise the policies that governed me; it wasn't my corp, I wasn't even a director and I hadn't put in an extensive amount of time into the running of the corp to be in a position where I could dictate said policies. I was grateful for the time spent by the many people who brought me up, so to speak, and gave me invaluable help, advice, free ships, free skillbooks, etc etc, and so I bowed out of the corp with the greatest of respect and moved on.
You on the other hand... well, who are you? Admittedly I have been out of the uni now for several months but I always check their forums and I am in constant contact with both current and ex unistas, and none of them have ever mentioned you to me. My corp recruits a lot of unistas also, in fact many of my managers are ex unistas, and none of them know who you are either. Was you in any sort of position within the uni? Or was you, as I suspect, a member who gave little back except opinions and headaches? Who are you to decide how another persons corp should be ran? And before you say "but all opinions matter", they do, but yours are big wall-of-text sperg specials - and you also don't seem to like it when people disagree with your opinions.
As for your treatment in the uni, I cannot comment. The way you put it, "kicked for expressing an opinion", does sound harsh however I suspect there is a lot more to it than this. Judging from this forum thread and other threads/posts by yourself I imagine you gave the uni management a lot of trouble and deserved your expulsion.
I'll finish with this; the EVE universe is a big place. There's a lot more to this game than the politics of a high-sec corporation. I suggest you look about and plan your future career, decide whether you want to stay in high-sec, check out lowsec, move into a wormhole or get involved in nullsec shenanigans. I would personally recommend nullsec; since I moved out here I never looked back. Whatever you do however I suggest you lose your boner for the uni, quit with these kinds of posts which do nothing but put off potential employers, and move on. |
