Lovelocke wrote: I left the uni because I disagreed with certain directors and certain decisions that had been made, or were being made, at the time. At that point I had gotten as much out of the uni as possible and instead of becoming a drama llama I simply moved on. It wasn't my place to criticise the policies that governed me; it wasn't my corp, I wasn't even a director and I hadn't put in an extensive amount of time into the running of the corp to be in a position where I could dictate said policies. Fair point. I enjoyed my time in the Uni. And got a lot out of it.
Quote:As for your treatment in the uni, I cannot comment. The way you put it, "kicked for expressing an opinion", does sound harsh however I suspect there is a lot more to it than this. Judging from this forum thread and other threads/posts by yourself I imagine you gave the uni management a lot of trouble and deserved your expulsion. Pretty much just expressing an opinion, and calling on certain no-show directors to be replaced by people who were working much harder and diligently further down the ladder. You can see similar statements made by other more prominent Unistas, such as Ninevite, after my expulsion.
I spent my time helping people in an unofficial capacity. Being a rah-rah cheerleader for the Uni with positive spotlights on various members. As well, as writing about problems I saw and needed addressing.
No director will ever admit it ... but if the WSOP changes after this month, to something more flexible, then I'll know I had a hand in that. I know this WSOP-free month would have never had happened if I hadn't raised my concerns publicly. If I'd raised them privately with the directors (as they prefer), it would have simply been ignored and the University today would be as the University two months ago.
Quote:I'll finish with this; the EVE universe is a big place. There's a lot more to this game than the politics of a high-sec corporation. I suggest you look about and plan your future career, decide whether you want to stay in high-sec, check out lowsec, move into a wormhole or get involved in nullsec shenanigans. I would personally recommend nullsec; since I moved out here I never looked back. Whatever you do however I suggest you lose your boner for the uni, quit with these kinds of posts which do nothing but put off potential employers, and move on. I am slowly doing that. But still, good words of wisdom.
As an aside: looks like one of the admirals needs to take the scouting certification -- http://killboard.eveuniversity.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=6920 What God Wants, God Gets, God Help Us All |

This is like that thing, where you break up with your girlfriend and she logs in her friend's facebook account to keep tabs.
Or a trainwreck.

Go go training university! Don't train anyone, just prove to them your rules are super awesome! Classes will still be held - they aren't stopping, the same way they don't normally during wars. In fact there will be a specific "How not to die" class, as well as a recording. The difference here is that we won't be enforcing our Wartime Standard Operating Procedures... or they can pick and choose which rules they want to follow. It's gonna be FUN! No comments on the RvB issue...
As for the no small gang roams, you of all people should know this isn't true Poetic. Anyone at anytime can form up fleets for roams, and not a single day goes by without such roams. During this no-WSOP month not a single day goes by that our "lone rangers" aren't out there grabbing solo kils. All of this is more than just possible to do in the uni, it happens all the time.
What these blog posts, and many others like it, seem to forget is that the uni is there pretty much only as much as you want it to be. If you want to learn something, chances are there's a class about it, if not and there's not enough support to have one. There's bound to be someone who can explain it to you through and through. It is up to yourself to decide what to do with that knowledge and if you just decide to follow the blob fleets and stick around in the Eygfe gate on Aldrat side for hours... Well that's your choice. There's plenty of fleets that go way beyond the 10 jump range, some to low sec, some to null, some to wherever you want them to go.
And the uni does teach about null specific things as well from blobs to caps, from sov to wormholes. Again it is up to the people in the uni to partisipate in them, learn from them, and put that knowledge into use. It's not a 9-5 work where all you do is study in a strict schedule. It's quite simply as much as you make of it. Once you grow out of the limits that the uni puts on you (that aren't really that much to be honest), you move on. Nothing more to it. |

Why? Oh. Because Silentbrick forbade it? That was a nice post though. Would like to hear your thoughts on RvB. More Unistas should express an opinion outside of the "company line."

Not my place to question orders from higher up. On top of that I don't even have enough information about the whole situation to begin with, not knowing what happened behind curtains and such. So even if allowed, all I could comment on was how the situation looked to me, hardly a neutral view of the things.
Without any personal feelings/comments about the situation, all I saw was this.
Our fleet of 100+ was ready and willing to take on a WT fleet of similar size. Despite waiting for hours the fight never happened. We got called elsewhere, went there to do our job and came back. As soon as we left, the POS bash started, and along with it a lot of unprintable smack talk in local as well as the open uni chat channels (eyes via alt, obviously). RvB claims we bailed out on a fight, to us it looked the opposite. In the end if I had to look at it from a neutral point of view, I suppose both parties are to blame, at least partially, but like said, as I don't have the background information all I can do is guess.
The only personal opinion I'm willing to give is that the long wait was indeed frustrating, I'd imagine it was the same for the opposing side. |

So the uni are doing well in the war and enjoying themselves so a new angle has to be found to continue the criticism? Well done. |

Having passion about something is commendable especially if it's rooted in a movement that could help the game in general.. but passion over flaming a past association eventually becomes unhealthy. Unfortunately the stalker comment, while funny, wasn't far off. Maybe it's time to move on for the sake of your virtual life.

http://poeticstanziel.blogspot.com/2011/09/eve-universitys-no-sop-month-rvb-tears.html
what the op failed to mention. The only any of us including devils (Deccing UNI), RvB (decced by UNI), Adopt (decced by UNI), -END- (Deccing UNI) and the other two alliances which were decced by uni (i think so don't quote me on that) is that solo i doubt any of us could have taken that thing down is it wasn't quite what you would call a death it was more a hardener fast and would take way to long for our alliances to do it solo.
So to correct the post on the RvB subject they did not attack the POS them selves but rather as a coalition and most of there fleet pissed of and left early leaving 36man coalition fro ADOPT and DEVILS with a smartering of the other alliances to finish the job. And on that same subject there was over 100 Eve Uni and toward the end on 5 of them had the balls to warp in at 50km and try and snipe a energy transfer alt.
Quote:The University wardecs RvB, then sits around the Aldrat area in heavy gate defense
what and you think it wasn't the same for us? how many of our members sit in aldrat ganking Goons, xDeath, MM, Starbridge? the answer is none so we had to go to them as well.
EDIT: Yes they retracted on us also to save there POS when it came out of defence. this is not RvB bash ether as an alliance director i thank them for coming as well as Devils, END and everyone else the shown there shiny hingy |

So I see I've been quoted on someone's blog, under the headline of RvB tears, yet said someone left out the little part of the post saying how it's all intended as humour.
Ah well, context is magic. I don't suppose you work for a tabloid in real life?
More on topic, gf IVY, when can we expect a round two? I must say I've been rather disappointed going back to regular RvB operations after the big fights we had. More of that please. :) |

CCP about to make it more difficult/expensive for corps to wardec EVE University? Perplexing comment made by an EVE Uni old-timer. Perhaps something he heard in Mumble from a director or Kelduum. Or perhaps something innocent. You decide.
