Edited by: Shin Vejita on 17/06/2004 11:11:12 well, ive only had the ship for a week, i had to spend 2 weeks rebuilding my ship ....i didnt have the money to get insurance on it, i can always start over sure, but im not willing to do that, i wont start from scratch after playing for 6 months, which is why ccp IS going to reinburse me, and my reason for rat hunting in a 0.6 is cause i get 5mil isk drops off of some of the rats, plus its only 1 jump away from my corps HQ, to go to a system where i could hunt rats, i would have to go 9 jumps ....which isnt worth the time
and it wasnt an NPC can that got nailed, it was a secure container ....

Then the response remains:Why fly a ship you can't afford to lose into a dangerous situation? No one forced you to fly a bs into combat. I've owned a bs for over a month now and even though I could afford to lose it I'm actually waiting until I have a spare.
I can hunt in 0.3 systems with my Maller. 0.6? I could hunt in there with a frigate. It'd be faster and no-one cares if they lose a frigate to a rat.
Basically you were careless, impatient and got caught out. Stop whinging and accept some of the blame for your actions.
To end on a constructive note:If instead of going out rat hunting you'd gone out mining then you could have earned the cost of insurance in a week or two at the outside. then you'd have made a profit when you lost your bs. -- (Battle hardened miner)

Same Problem here. Im a neew Player. Mined yesterda in sec 0.8 Sytem in an asteroid belt. A Pirat came an i locked him. I started a Missle, hit a secure conti and was blown away by Concord.
As a Neewbie, i totally hate to get all my ressources blown away cause of defending against a Pirate ans soma astray containers.

This should be discussed in this thread so locking topic, move discussion over there.
This is an intentional change and is part of the Aggression system. It's correct, this specific part was not properly publicized.
Player owned secure containers and player dropped cans are their property. Shooting at them equals shooting at the player.
This is in line with the contraband part of the aggression system where the loot dropped by an attacked party flags the one that picks up the loot as an agressor too. Today the loot pickup party is immune although known to carry the stolen items preventing retaliation.
The fix for this lies in not allowing the missiles to damage something they were not explicitly launched at. _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |
