At this point, I think an arcane summoning ritual is required to bring forth the presence of Doctor Eyjog. However, the knowledge of those archaic arts have long since been lost to mere mortals, so I'll have to rely on luck.
A response from The Good Doctor would be quite useful for answering the OP and solving some of the misunderstandings and misconceptions in this thread.

ASSETS CAN BE ****ING CONVERTED INTO ISK
I was running low on isk and converted a gist type C XL SB into 1.5b isk, the money in the bank seem ****ing real to me.
It is possible to sell your assets to another player so that player will "TRANSFER" some Isk to you as payment.
But such transactions do not "CREATE" new isk in the game.
On the other hand, every time you collect a bounty payment for killing an NPC, New Isk has been CREATED in game.
You can lose 1000 Titans, destroyed, all modules destroyed, and wreck destroyed without being salvages, and it will not "REMOVE" even 0.01 isk from the game. You will have lost a lot of valuable assets, but ZERO isk will have been destroyed.
Isk is removed from the game when: --You buy something from NPCs --You pay taxes to NPCs --You pay broker fees to NPCs --You are fined by NPCs --etc
Isk is NOT removed from the game when: --Your stuff is blown up --Your isk and/or stuff is stolen by a player --You give your isk and/or stuff away to a player --You buy from a player --etc
Isk is added to the game when: --You collect payments for missions --You sell stuff to NPCs for isk --You collect Concord bounties for killing NPCs --etc
Isk is NOT added to the game when: --You sell stuff to other players --You collect loot --You make stuff --etc
"Money Supply" is a key part of any economy. Some people, such as Robert Mugabe, have a hard time understanding this.
Play nice while you butcher each other.

Originally by: Oregon sinful The only place ISK is actually generated is from missions/npcing. All the other ISK in the game now is the same ISK as it's passed around.
Wrong. NPC trade goods. -- I'm done whining about AFs, it looks like they are making them right \o/ |

Insurance are actually both a sink and a faucet. All depending on the outcome of the ship. If it outlives it's insurance (which quite a few of my ships has), it's money "out the window". If the ship dies, it's ISK into the economy.
I always though 12 weeks of insurance was way to long and reducing it to 3-6 weeks would be a better solution, for the economy. If you look at an individual level, 12 weeks are great. You have plenty of time to earn the price of the insurance, and then some. If you only have 3 weeks and PvP a lot, you are a bit pressed (i can imagine).
I would personally love if frigates and cruisers were the majority of any fleet, as they are more cost effective than a battleship. T2 ships and faction ships should be more rare than the standard. Would also mean, that any war would be definitive and griefing a big problem.
But is inflation a serious problem in EvE. Not in my opinion.
