BPO/Bpcs are the same item code, just the stats are changed, the client has no way to tell them apart
Well, perhaps the client would be able to tell them apart by looking at the 'runs remaining' stat then ;-) 0+ and infinite are different from oneanother.. ain't they? I really can't see that this should be such a hard task, even with my humble programming experience I think it should be simple. But, they might just be busy with Shiva ;-) I can live with the current 'markings' as I too have small cans for sorting them, I do see the problem though. And, well, scamming is part of the game, live with it or don't buy on escrow ;-) And don't get too lazt btw, instead of complaining, sort your BPs as some of us do, it takes a little time, but in the end it might be worth your 'trouble'.
Enough from me ^_^/
Edit: Okay, I just read the reply from the devs: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=93945 Seems like their 'excuses' are okay ;-) But again, I'm not the one who has sold a BPO for the price of a BPC ;-)

can't be bothered to read through twelve full pages of "signed" posts, so.
Add a Tech II marker to the T2 bpo's same style as T2 equipment has.

Not signed... Scamming is a part of this game whether players like it or not, colouring the BPC's/BPO's seperatly would make it too easy for stupid people to not fall for scams
Sorry ladies but it sounds like a good idea, but i'm afraid it would kill some scammers income.
Dont flame me for posting this with the whole "RWAR SCAMMERS ARE BAD" n other such bull sh*t, I'm meerly pointing out that scamming is part of the game and it would be screwed up. -----------------------

The colorchange and T2 flagging has been suggested numerous times before this thread.
The intent being to make it easier to keep track of your own bpo's/bpc's in hangars, can's etc with lot's of bp's.
If it makes it harder for scammers to practice their ill deeds, so be it. But that was not the outset for the idea.

Edited by: Whitethorn on 06/09/2004 17:54:12 This gets my vote.
Having some sort of indicator would make things so much easier. I don't care if its a different colour or just a small overlay over one corner like the Tech II marker, just so we can distinguish between the BPOs and BPCs. Not even bothered about highlighting 0-run BPCs, I always check the details anyway when I buy.

Problem is that some of the BPCs from the early days of Eve are also infinite run, so you can't use that to identify BPOs. However, that will show up the exhausted BPCs and the "Copy: yes/no" section will distinguished BPO/BPC easily enough.
I have also nearly sold BPOs for ammo on a couple of occasions. I now store BPOs and BPCs separately in cans in my hangar, and go through all the copies to make sure I have put the BPO back in its can before I do anything with the BPCs.
To Dezzib0y, who mentioned scammers - try finding your BPOs after you have run off 50 copies each of several ammo BPs, and have 200+ near-identical blue BPs in your hangar with 4 BPOs amongst them...

CCP might say it is a difficult thing to implement but i still think it is a large enough issue which should have been addressed a long time ago. I am all for Shiva, but shouldnt we fix the existing issues, before adding new ones?
