I guess it just seems strange to me the way this thread was created and the OP's wording. Xabier is essentially using his name and reputation to gain funding that he will not have access to. The person that will have the sole access has no reputation or history on MD. Not calling scam or anything here, I just think its strange.

Honestly I am not expecting as much response from the MD community (granted it would speed things along) I have been working with hundreds of players over my 2 years on EVE mostly all as CEO of various corps. I know I have the trust out there in the eve community. Take this IPO as me introducing myself to the MD community. Fell free to sit back and watch. As times goes on all these questions will answer themselves. If you care to invest and try it out please feel free as I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
Not really much I can do on a forum to defend myself except to say I am a corp CEO as I have been for a most of my 2 years in eve and I am responsible for controlling large volumes of isk/things of value. There has never been a question of my loyalty to my members or the eve community at large. This is merely an extension of our corp operations into the open eve community for all to be able to participate. Basically if I have scammed someone EVER I am sure the forum whining will start in 3... 2.... 1... :) |

Same can be said of Istvaan Shogaatsu........
Just needed to point out how much "worth" that has here when dealing with us, complete strangers. --

Well, if that was indeed your intention than I think it would have been better if YOU were the one offering it and doing most of the talking especially since the guy asking for the funding won't be controlling it. Anyways, welcome to MD and good luck with your offering.
As a side note regarding IPO's, its best to answer most of the questions first rather than let them "answer themselves".

o/ Folks,
I'm not a familiar name here, However I'm one of the leaders of Elitist Cowards, the Alliance Tacos Revolution is in. I thought it was important to point out that Tacos Revolution, albeit a fine corp, will no longer be apart of the Elitist Cowards as of the 30th of this month. So they will no longer have the JB network and will no longer have the bonus of being blue to the region.
I have no doubt though that they will be able to make money in whatever market they choose to seed. I give my voucher to them, they are trustworthy guys and would do your investment right.
Best of Luck, Fir Q

Confirmed we have beeen removed from EC. IPO is on hold all and all isk will be returned on return of the shares and a mail to HomieTraderMan. Well easy to say we did not see this coming and there is not much I can say but our corp will move on with business. IPO will be reposted once we are moved since it does not matter where we end up we will continue our industrial operations. Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused anyone and isk will be returned promptly as stated above. |

Edited by: Fassn on 22/09/2008 08:36:40 I purchased 120 shares for 240m. Their Alliance changed plans or something and RapidTaco refunded my money. plain and simple.
also noticed something most did not. Xabier noted this
"If/when the IPO is closed I will buy up the existing 0.0 stock at cost to recoup the investors isk."

It is not an inconvenience. This thread was more educational than anything. It demonstrates several things that must be faced upfront in the proposal and early on. (I.e. Don't be asked about it or it seems like you don't know what you are doing.) {Mind you this is not criticism of you, your corp, or your planning (or future plans).} First, those who are doing an IPO need to be the ones here. Even if I were to help someone on their IPO document (which I sometimes do) I would not be the one to lead off or control the discussion. People do not want to meet with hired hands, they want to meet the boss. Second, 0.0 IPO's built upon access to alliance facilities really should be cleared up through the alliance. It helps to avoid disintegrating deals. Thirdly, it does not matter how trusted a CEO you are or how trusted an FC you are. Many such people have come here to MD, borrowed money, and then just gave everyone the finger. For some pvp corps, this is their way of making sure they get wardec'd for lasting fun. If you had gotten the money and started reporting failures and accidents and incidents eventually leading to the point that the investors have lost their shirts on the deal... Realistically what is anyone going to do? ( Barratry anyone?) These are just a few of the reason that critical review of ipo's are done.

Nuking the op doesn't work as everyone interested will just go to Eve Search. Mind you I'm just saying as I found it strange that Rapid bows out and then the op wipes the ipo document.

I do not find that really strange in particular since the deal is off. What i really wanted to know as i stated earlier was at what time did the corp know they had to leave the region.

I'm aware of that :)
Given the corp is currently evacing assets and at same time directors are being barraged with convos it seemed simpler to delete OP (change title to closed) to reduce any additional work that could be generated now that isk has been returned.
Of course people can go through eve-search.com to see a record of the thread and they are welcome.
Why does anything someone does have to be assumed to be up to no good? If the thread was left up with no statements at the top I'd probably have people posting stuff like, how are you doing this IPO when your corps not even in alliance anymore.
At end of the day getting critism from you Shar is the lesser of two evils.

I'm sure after the corp has secured its assets and its members have managed to evac their stuff you'll get a more detailed response here, if not from RapidTaco then I'll post.
Suffice to say first thing I knew was when my vent/forums access was revoked.

This is ironic.I said "strange", not nefarious. Personal curiosity is just that. It is not an accusation. (I wish them well in their changed situation though.)
