You guys are serious? its a game, and as goon it is there job to irratate all the empire carebears as much as possible. After all, in 0.0 noone flys a ship they can't afford to lose, and what fun is fighting people that want to fight? NONE!!! So they come to empire just to watch all the carebears cry cause they couldn't afford to lose what they just lost. get over it people, they are corpses, all it did was add to the lag in the system anyways, its better that they are gone, he had his 15 minutes of fame. Oh and it doesn't matter what ideas you come up with, if the goons want it they will find a way to take it. Keep crying about it though, I'm laughing my *** off reading all this crap. |

Originally by: Lady Valory OK, for all the role players who really like this idea here is what you do...
1) you get enough isk for a large faction death star
Like the ones we siege a few times a week in 0.0, right?
Originally by: Lady Valory 2) you get enough isk for 1 year worth of fuel
Would run around 500m
Originally by: Lady Valory 3) you create a new corp called "cemetary" or whatever cute name you want
Think they already have this.
Originally by: Lady Valory 4) you anchor said death star in low sec with a STATION
ok... ?
Originally by: Lady Valory THUS
1) attack this death star, take a standing hit and go to -10 --each pos mod u attack u lose sec
Unless, of course, the corp was wardecc'd like it is now.
Originally by: Lady Valory 2) only a fleet could possible attack this star, so now you can see who are the real losers vs one loser goon
OH GOD NO NOT A FLEET!
Originally by: Lady Valory 3) all cemetaries have maintenance fee, so if you want to anchor cans around the death star, you contract them to the pos owner with 5-10 mil isk and he anchors it
Holy shit, think of the money-making oppurtunities! I won't ever have to mine again!
Originally by: Lady Valory 4) the pos is fueled to 2011 so therefore it is rather permanent
We will bend time and space! A year's worth of fuel will be crammed into 120,000m3 of space, and will last us 3 years!
Originally by: Lady Valory 5) the faction death star with large energy neut batteries can kill lots of crap before it dies
*snicker* We just killed 4 of these this week with no losses.
Originally by: Lady Valory 6) the cemetary 'endowment' continues to grow as people send corpses and payment to the pos owner --the endowment can be used to pay for fuel
But why? there's already 3 years worth of fuel in there!

I think money and cost to upkeep were primary concerns with the first POS. Also Azia actually being around to play might have helped

Get another sansha or dark blood tower, and anchor it in the same spot, you dont need to gather all the bodies, tbh, a marker for the dead would suffice for me.
Deathstar it. Leave everything anchored so you dont jack the fuel bill through the roof, if you get dec'd, just go online the def/offensive modules, if done right, it will be nearly impossible to take down without heavy losses. get a couple of pos gunnery guys on retainer maybe in case you get dec'd they can join the corp and man the weapons for the pew pew, Ill contact azia tomorow when i have more time and see where its at.

I just don't understand why Goons and Bob can't just go at it, once and for all, maybe we will all get lucky and they would kill each other off and make null sec space more appealing.

Goons (and the things they do) are one of the things that make Eve awesome and provide me with forum amusement.
Sure the sec system could use a few tweaks but if highsec becomes 'totally safesec no matter what' I think this game will lose something important. ---

No one has the guts to team up and do it. Thats the problem. Except BoB i guess. To OP, how stupid can you get, discussing rebuilding the graveyard on these forums. Next time do it privately in game with Azia and whoever else is interested.

I highly doubt any fleet of any battleship size would manage to take down the tower. specially when the tower is heavily lagged due to all the can spam.
Oh and anchor in hi sec, obviously.
Oh and possibly join an alliance would be a good idea.

Does a POS resets the can timer ? As in, POS get destroyed timer for can start to tickle down from 30 and does a new POS will reset the timer back to 30 days ?
If the above is the case, just put up a POS once every 30 days. In case of a wardec ask someone you know to put the POS up for a day to reset the timer.

You can't anchor a POS at a moon where any anchored containers are already present, so this wouldn't work.
I have another idea that doesn't involve a POS at all. Since we now have API access to container logs (or at least we will do once it's fixed, anyhow), the keepers could create a spreadsheet that would allow them to check which ones needed to be accessed and use it to issue maintenance lists to volunteers.
Granted, this would require upgrading to audit log containers, but it might still be worthwhile. ----- DIY copying in Liekuri 20:1 mineral compression |

Sadly this functionality is by design. The fact that POSs do protect containers is there to help people with logistics in their sovereign space, not to help them leave space trash once they've lost sovereignty which has to be cleaned up before anything is anchored there again.
Of course this does not really apply to the Cemetery as it's not claiming Sovereignty for anybody, but we can't base our design decisions on a unique phenomenon like the Cemetery was. This also doesn't prevent people from opening all the containers and thus make them stick after their POS goes down. But at that point they've put about as much work into annoying the conquering party as they put into cleaning up after you.
As a minor consolation I'll leave you with a metaphysical life-size portrait of yours truly and a basket of rotting eggs.

Oh no, please don't do this. RedLion is absolutely right, there's no way for a group of battleships to destroy a POS configured this way in a high lag situation. Especially not with faction guns.
Do anything you like, but please don't set up one of these in highsec, Br'er Fox.

Goons said it before they want to ruin EVE and everything inside so they are trying to deliver on their promise. Their idiot representative in CSM wants to introduce musical instruments wtf? He always pushes for stupidest stuff.
They may not say it anymore, but I remember the threadnought and when every gooon, many of whom are currently in leadership now, have stated time after time that their aim will be from that point on to ruin CCP and EVE.
