Last time I will post in one of these whining threads.
GSF has always metagamed in EVE and even took it beyond levels anyone could imagine.
They have pulled off stunts which make the whole Mittani debacle look like kids play.
Now that their beloved CEO and heavily voted on chairman for the CSM get's a piece of his own medicine the whole world all of a sudden is too small to breath in without inhaling absolute contempt that GSF got hit by a part of the outgame things they themselves always prided themselves with.
I don't give a rats arse if Goons try to be the ultimate bad guys. But hell, you went from ultimate bad to ultimate whiny in the course of a few days.
For years you have done your uttmost best to be the most hated entity in EVE and now that you have what you wanted all along you start crying about how unfair it is when your own tactics get used against you.
You truly are a pityfull remnant of what once Goons actually were and I hope The Mittani is gonna slap some real Goonblood into you guys and girls again.

You have a very strong point and I agree completely that anyone that chooses to mock somone elses IRL issues by pretending they suffer from them or cracking jokes at them about it is wrong.
However I also feel that going out and promoting others to harass someone about/into commiting suicide is also an offense.

If the victim was pretending then he is just as wrong that this situation as gotten out of hand. Although I nor you can honestly say what his mental status is. We just don't know that when it comes down to it and that's why these actions had to be taken. To protect THOSE that DO have issues from others who would THINK the act of doing what Mit did was kosher..

If anything he's the one that fail for some bait and if that guy knew he was going to take it ALL the way to Fanfest and make a presentation and then get drunk and present his presentation.. It's a game. Real-Life has nothing to do in a game. If someone is manically depressed and suicidal, he shouldn't be playing a game that allows people to go out and kill others as they see fit. He might as well have played Counter-Strike, and tried to convince the opposite team not to shoot him because "he's a suicidal and he'll kill himself if they shoot him in the game". It's not an argument, it's a sign of extreme desperation. He already knew he could get shot at anytime, anywhere. He had plenty of opportunity to know that Goons were cutting off Gallente High-sec Ice Belts. He just decided to go mine anyway (most likely AFK too), and then use a (possibly made-up) mental state as a defence for making them not shoot him. The Goons did nothing wrong. They just played the game their way.
Although The Mittani did cross the line by telling people to go harass that random ice-miner and make him kill himself. Joking with telling people to force others into suicide isn't funny. That's just morbid. But ganking people and stealing from them in-game is just playing in the sandbox. When you're playing in the sandbox, for a long enough time, you're bound to get hurt one way or the other. |

It does not matter what condition you have, you leave it at the door. If you do not want to be ridiculed for your conditions / rl character, do not bring it into the game. I have said it before, and will say it again: No one should be immune to ridicule and contempt for their actions in EVE, nor for their attempt to bring their own ****** life into EVE. In every post scam/gank conversation you have in EVE, you will usually assume that someone (o/ OP) is lying for pity or to make you feel bad. |

I call BS. He was not sorry and never was beyond the fact that he was justifiably punished for his behavior.
I have been so severely depressed I was suicidal for a very long time. For years! Life is better now because I busted my ass and made it better but I can absolutely appreciate what the victim felt then.
Someone's very real life is worth more than The Mittani's account on a video game.
He should have been banned. Permanently. Period.
The fact that he was not is causing me right now to seriously reconsider how much longer I wish to keep playing this game. |

Oh...you are this person's mental health provider? You can supply us all with documentation proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that the person in question has no signs of depression, clinical or otherwise? Because without that, you are in no position to evaluate anyone else's mental health, only your own. And quite frankly, you should be bearing the standard of this protest due to your own condition. You, above most of us, should be highly offended by the actions at the assembly. There is no way that you should even be defended them...I wager that has something to do with your alliances and all that garbage.
