I'm sure this has been suggested before but i'd love to have a choice of mission when I go and see an agent. A random selection of three would be an improvement or even a mission noticeboard like on Frontier (yes I am that old!). It would help to take the grind out of missions especially with ccp adding more of them, playing for days to before my favourite mission comes up just makes me not want to log on. Any thoughts, especially from devs?

Like the old game "Privateer" (the original. Anyone remember that?) When you visited an 'agent' (mission terminal) you got a list of 3-6 missions you could choose from, each with different level of difficulty and rewards.
Way back in the stone age, when Privateer was released, the missions actually had little 'storylines' that made the missions interesting. Multiple goals within the mission to complete it. I.E. an ancient weapon followed you around chewing up your ship and it could only be destroyed by another ancient weapon that you had to find first then take to a mechanic that could modify it to work on your ship.
Little simplistic storylines like this kept missions interesting instead of "go there, kill everything, pick up people or thing and return to agent".
I've oft wondered what is the reason CCP keeps missions so boring and lacking in content.

Yes please!!! :)
Only change I would recommend is to make all of the missions offered be in the same system. For example, if mission 1 takes place in Attyn then all X of them should take place in Attyn.

I want the selection of missions to be in different places, that way you can pick a mission somewhere less laggy.

Did I not say it clear enough? :( What I mean is that when the agent gives you a list of missions, all of the missions you are offered will take place in the same system, otherwise this mechanism would be exploited by too many people as a way to avoid low sec. I did not mean that ALL missions will take place in the same system, just the missions that you are offered when the agent offers you a list.

And that same system will be just as laggy! I rather like being able to choose from multiple destinations as well instead of them all being (by necessity) in the same system! This is a great idea.

How about adding a twist to it?
Every agent gets a list of, say, 20 missions. But those missions are all missions the agent has available for *everyone* not just a single player. Accepted missions get removed from the list and new ones are added over time, depending on how many missions get filled in, effectively limiting missions as a resource and forcing players to compete for the profitable missions.
If you want to make it even more evil, more than one pilot can accept a mission but only the one who fills the objective can cash it in.
Of course this would make it very unfriendly for quite a few people in quite a few systems.

Frankly that argument is a non starter.
If you are doing missions in an area with that much lab, then chances are really good that anywhere you go within the range of that agent will fall under the same lag. Remember lag is generally a per server blade thing, not a per system thing.
There is no where in this proposal to remove the mission decline ability you currently enjoy. You are still, under this proposal as written, free to turn down one mission per agent every 4 hours without a standing hit. As such, you would still have the ability to turn down the entire list if you so choose.
