I will amass a massive capital fleet of 200-300 titans, 500-600 moms, 1000-1500 carriers, 2000-2500 dreads, and 5000-6000 sub capitals. Then we shale march on empire!

This one time, at band camp, I spent 12b in the course of 2 days on high grade snakes (2 sets + ships/fittings) and got drunk.
Now i r is have no snakes and ships :(
hint: Don't forget that you're in your snakes when you step into a deimos and then Leeroy into a 0.0 bubble camp.
EDIT: or if you do forget, don't post about it on the forums to make a prat of yourse... oh wait. --

Losing a supercap was pretty high on the list at first but it felt more like a relief and less of an achievement.

Edited by: Ecatherina W on 31/10/2008 08:53:20 One day, when I actually do retire from Eve, I will be giving out my ISK in random acts of kindness. This will be done by lurking in the rookie help channel and finding some noobs, who seem like they are enjoying the game as much as I did when I was just starting out. And I will not spoil the game for them by handing them a billion - but I may hand them 100 mill or so, spreading the ISK over many instead of placing too much on one. New people handling shiploss without whining would be a good example of what I would be looking for.
And no, I will never give 1 single ISK to anyone asking for it. If you ask for it, you don't deserve it in my book. Go mine veldspar for all I care.

Edit: OMG, I just realized just how long that plan will take

Can I not have all your stuff?
You would think CCP would have added things like, "Amarr", "CCP", "Microwarpdrive", etc. to their forum dictionary.

Originally by: slothe Imho, having lots of isk actually makes this game less fun.
Eve is a game for pedants, addicts, and collectors. You play eve more because you want to a)experience something you havent, b) buy something you havent got, c) do something you havent.
But when u have bought everything you want, done everything you can do, .. what is left? nothing.
This is exactly my thought. Getting rich early on indirectly took the fun out of the game for me. I've not been able to get back into Eve since (2+ years now) and wonder if I ever will. I am flatly non-plussed about capital ships which changes the numbers by a few factors, but having enough ISK to do whatever you want means the only thing you have to work for is skill training, and you don't have to play to get them up...and I haven't. I was a victim of my own in-game success way back when...
What I would like is something fun to do, whatever it might be....isk is not an object. -------------

These are some interesting thoughts. I've been playing for under a week.
My goal hasn't really involved isk, but how many resources I can amass.
I thought it would be hilarious to email my friend (who got me to try the free trial last week) a screenshot of me having like 200 million tritanium in a port somewhere.
By the numbers some people here are posting, my grand scheme is sort of laughable. I guess it's newbie syndrome, but I find myself scraping for skill books instead of wondering what I'll do with my huge numbers. I'll get there one day though....just you wait! I came, I saw, I mined the asteroid, then I warped home. |

Originally by: Qordel Well, my (possibly ignorant) understanding is that every time someone mines an ounce of minerals, they are adding new money to the economy. So it would seem to me that in order to just keep up the value of your own wealth, you have to constantly add to it. There isn't a finite amount of money.
Sure, things get destroyed and not all wrecks/spent missiles/etc can be recovered back into the economy, but some can. And I suspect that the amount of wealth added into the economy from mining and such FAR outweighs the amount lost per day from destruction/spending of material goods.
Not to mention, where does the money from insuring ships come from? Is that just magically added into the economy?
Nope your understanding is wrong. Minerals dont add ISK!. Because you cannot sell them to the NPCs....only stuff that adds money is 1. NSC Bounties 2. Mission Rewards 3. Insurance. Every other source of income is money you get from other players. But you are right the amount of ISK addd to the game is more than the amount lost. But as parallel to more ISK, more wares and players are coming into the game, the inflation should keep in line.
But yes, inflation in eve sucks, because the money earning mechanics in 1-3 wont increase, so with inflation you have no higher "wages" in eve ^^

I have always found that the more assets I own the more I enjoy the game.
It makes losing ships or getting podded so much less painful.
If you think corp is different than a guild or clan you have some insecurity issues.

dying and getting angry is what this game is about. the joy you feel escaping 50 0.0 jumps without being podded is awesome, same joy you wouldn't feel in your case ______________

edit: almost forgot: 5) Hiring mercs to battle against eachother, see who the best merc is, all this televised in the name of enjoyment offcourse, get some CCP dudes to gimme live feeds of corp, fleet and director chat and all that.... Reality TV in EVE

That's very nice and something the nice side of me would think of doing if I had more than 100 mil isk between my characters most of the time.
The evil side of me would want to fit out a uber faction ship go out hunting ppl then ransoming their ships only letting them go if the sing 'I feel pretty' over ts (or whatever that song is called from anger management).
