Edited by: Pandion Lord on 03/10/2008 16:04:16 Edited by: Pandion Lord on 03/10/2008 16:00:25 STRICTLY a missions boat:
This is NOT your 'cookie cutter' loadout by any means of the design. Plenty of those to go around so look somewhere else. I designed this load out for the armor tanker in mind first and foremost.
As you can see, it is not very skill intensive. Now here is the reasoning behind my top slot layout, EVERY one who asked me about my setup also inquired about my 4 & 4 setup up top.
For MY style of play it works. For example the Rat Spec'd out hardeners down low is for a Sansha mission. The cruises allow you to rip the the shields apart starting at 70K, if they survive to get inside gun range, then the Scouts make quick work of armor and structure.
Please vary your 4 hardeners/drones, ammunition accordingly as per mission damage.
This setup, will repair 1,600 Armor roughly every 10 seconds.
The Wall can solo ANY level 4 mission without need of warping out, or worrying about webber/scrambler frigs OR those pesky Amarr ships that love to steal cap. Your cap will remain steady at about 60%, with all low slots cooking.
Your capacitor WILL drop to about 45-52% (and remain STEADY) with 4 of the cap nossing Amarr cruisers on your ship (I tested this).
I hope you all contribute and I look forward to your thoughts. Thank you all for viewing.
High Slots - 4x 'Scout' 1200mm Arty's, 4x Arbalest Cruise Launchers Mid Slots - 6x Cap Charger II Low Slots - 2x Large Armor Reppers & 2x EM Hardener II 2x Therm Hardener (active) Rigs - 3x Capacitor Control Circuit

Your tank looks fine, only trouble you might find when running Blood Raider/Sansha missions is that projectile ammo is fairly terrible for dealing EM/Thermal damage at a decent range. sXe |

If you used a similar setup on a Typhoon you would have a better ship in every way.
Say what you will about your playstyle, but my playstyle doesn't involve spending as long as possible in any single mission. ------------

how much damage can it do? i find it hard to get even 450 dps with 6x 1400mm II's and 3x gyro stabs (shield tanked). thou it can pop cruisers and BC's in one to three salvos, it's still a little slow on the battleships.

With a proper shield tanking setup, my Fleet Tempest tanks 518 against Sanshas and does 560 DPS. My Vargur tanks 873 and does 663.
I don't mean this to be e-peening waving, just throwing some numbers out there. ------------

Edited by: Triest on 03/10/2008 17:39:43 Oh look, another person decides to post their random and terrible mission fit as a new thread. I particularly like this part:

Great reasoning! So your 'playstyle' involves wasting doubly bonused slots on a ship for low DPS missile launchers, I guess.
This fitting does less damage than just about any battleship in the game, except maybe the Scorpion, has no speed mods, and is generally terrible.
People who run missions aim for a balance between tanking enough and killing the enemies faster. Any battleship in the game, faction or otherwise, can be fitted in a way to tank any mission, the trick is to deal enough damage to make it possible to complete the mission in a given amount of time, which your fitting completely fails at doing. Why don't you lock the thread, for the good of everyone.
As an aside, what is it about the empire faction battleships that makes people use them in absolutely horrible ways? I've seen so very many awful navy Megas, fleet Tempests, and the like, and I don't really get it. Anyone have some insight?
I don't think you're aware of how grid-limited the Typhoon is. You're not fitting a single LAR without a grid mod, much less 2. \/\/\/\/

The Brick: Standard Typhoon with the same load out.
Look into it. (hint: ROF bonus for the cruise missiles)

That poor fleet Tempest.
I have never found the need to dual rep in a mission. ever. Nor have I ever found the need to run the repper all the time.
You can fit a pretty good shield tank on the fleet pest, then fit some damage mods and still a couple of low slot cap mods with a couple of CCC rigs and a semiconductor memory cell.
Even with your odd highslot setup it will tank and gank better.

Of course it can tank any level4 mission. That's all it looks like to me, a tanker. Why is every single mid slot a cap recharger? Is it really that worthwile to have a 6th cap recharger instead of a single Afterburner? I find AB's rather useful on misisoning battleships, for a start, they help get the range right, it does rather suck operating at sub 200m/s velocities and having to cover 70-80km sometimes. But hey, i want to finish my mission quicker. You're absolutely right. This is most definitely not your 'cookie cutter' layout, by any stretch of the imagination.
