Originally by: Zombie27 I've been playing Eve for about 4 months. I love the lore of Eve and I like getting into the lore of the games I play. So last week I finaly decided to join a fairly large corp with a large alliance. As with most corps I was required to download ventrilo. Anyway I joined a pvp op and logged onto vent and all I heard was high-pitch voices and whiny nerds.......this absolutely broke the roleplaying aspect of Eve. So CCP I will pay $15 a month if I'm able to play a singleplayer Eve universe with NPC, mission, computer generated market, but I'm sorry I can't play this awsome game with such sub-par ppl. Your game is the best game I ever played but like everything else ppl ruin the experience. Till then I'll be playing X3.
LOL! The PVP gang I was in last night spent an hour discussing curry and the credit crunch (mostly the latter). It was lucky we were in highsec moving between 0.0 entries as it got pretty involved. Seriously, you sound like the one with the problem here. I've certainly never had any problems with the quality of my fellow gamers. I'm sure no one will miss you.

The first guys a whiney nerd and the second guy is just trying to enjoy a game by himself.I'm not gonna force myself to play with sub-par ppl I don't like so I'm lookin for an alternative and if their isn't a singleplayer version then I'm movin on. Also the chat channels are filled with gamebreaking chat.
At first I thought you were a troll, then I realized you're just not very bright. IT'S AN MMO. That means OTHER PEOPLE might infringe on your game. OHNOES.
Do everyone a favour... unplug your internet. You're a misanthropic dolt who doesn't realize he is better off never leaving the house. YOU MIGHT MEET PEOPLE OUT THERE...OMG.... you wouldn't want to break the immersion, right?

X3 is a great game...
But your reasons for leaving EVE are flawed if that corp/alliance isn't for you how about finding one that is rather than jumping ship (pun intended). --

Edited by: Cassandra Valieries on 05/10/2008 11:41:52 To the OP, I know excactly what you mean, I'd rather have my tongue tied to the exhaust pipe of car slowly driving over a field of broken glass, than using Ventrilo or any kind of voicechat again. EVER.
And playing Eve solo, has it's charms, but does get a bit dull after a while (that's what I did my first three months), then spent a month corphopping, before striking gold.
I started my own corp, and convinced one of my RL tabletop roleplaying mates to try Eve, he was instahooked and by now there's 4 of us. A nice little noob corp, and we're enjoying ourselves immensly. And we're only recruting people we know in RL, that we know we get along with
Have a nice day
Edited since I can't bloody spell...

How about not basing your entire view of the game on one ventrilo instance?
I am in the corp "Kingmakers". Average age is somewhere around 35 and its a pleasure to chat with them on ventrilo.
Keep at it and look for another corp.. You dont need a big corp to have fun.

All I was asking is if I can enjoy a single-player version of Eve online. I know it's an MMO (and it's my first MMO) but I obviosley don't like MMO's so I was asking if their was a single player version (apartlently theirs not) so I guess I'll move on. Also I'm sorry if I offended ppl with high pitched voices and your right were all nerds to an extent.

You don't need a corp and you don't need to chat with people. I been playing on my own over a year with some long breaks. I don't have time for.. or want a corp.. so what you been doing today? hows it hanging dude? what's your sign? can you believe this bank bail out crap? how bout shut up.. I talk to people all day and right now this asteroid is more interesting than you are. Sometimes I'm mr. social and hang out with people I meet.. other times.. crank the music.. sip my drink.. get a nice buzz and chill and just leave me alone.. you wanna pick on me.. I have my other account sitting right over there. I took CCP at their word.. Eve is a sandbox.. play it your way.

Pretentious people like the OP are the type of people I don't like to encounter in Eve. Assuming that all 0.0 alliances are whiny jerks just from one experience is ridiculous. You won't be missed.

Confirming that I once worked a job that centered around the delivery of TOW-2B missiles in anger, and that I not only have a nasal voice but also have what I would describe as a somewhat "gay" vocal inflection.

Meh. If he wants to play solo play solo. Works for that Richter guy in Bordan. Though I notice that he's actually in an Alliance these days even if he still mostly plays alone. Must be wanting support for his new epeen. ------- CEO of Maids. No I didn't pick the name. I've grown rather fond of it though.

So you're saying you'll only play Eve if the other guys are manly men, with deep soothing voices? O'rly?

One guy.
I had several encounters with.
Named evilphoenix.
He was more or less solo and he did a DAMN good job of it.
It just takes some effort and you can **** of an entire alliance!

It's Jagons like the OP of this thread that make me have to coax new players on to our voice comms, because they think someone is going to make fun of their voice or accent. What, you never talked on a phone, or with other people? Get over it dude. If voice comms are gonna make you leave EVE then don't let the door hit you in the @$$ on the way out.
BTW, part of my enjoyment is listening to and understanding the different accents and inflections of people from around the world.
