When it comes to collecting tolls for wayfarers, a fine balance has to be met. One must take into account the age of the character, the ship they are flying, and the possibility that they have implants. Ask too much and you'll end up just picking their bones for drop loot. Ask too little and you loose out on revenue. I'm interested in what guidelines other toll gatherers are using out there?

Goodberry, I agree with you. The night Tank CEO paid a visit to my system and showed me the pointy end of his weapon, I was adverse to paying. I was prepared to go down fighting... (think my torps are still flying around that system looking to engage with Xidde). However, I was prepared for my loss. Others are not, and that is why there are business opportunities out there. If you are not prepared to loose it then don't risk it. The reason people are in low security space is for commerical reasons. High risk high gain...

Zhaka, as soon as someone disappears from the toll window, that is the trigger to open up on them. Plenty of time to take out a ship before it warps to safety. And there is a chance you might get the pod as well...
The thing about a lot of new Battleship owners is that they have saved up for this ship without thinking about the hidden costs of ownership. Insurance 20-30mil, Turrets, skills etc. So they will be flying around without insurance or proper kit for a long time before they should be. So it may be worth considering an interim rate for new Battleship owners. 10mil for Tier 2 and 5mil for Tier 1. Depending on the pilots age. |

A toll window would be a very good idea. You would still need to be able to chat to the customer and monitor any logging attempts. But, it would make tolling into a more ligitmate mechanic of the game.
Changing your mind on a toll would not be an option. I can't believe that people would do such a devious thing, really! It gives Pirates a bad name! |
