The EVE Online: Empyrean Age 1.1.2 - Mac/Linux additions patch will be deployed this Wednesday, 08 October during the normal Tranquility downtime.
Patch Notes are available for review and the update will resolve issues affecting graphics, keyboard layouts, patching and stability amongst other things.
This patch will only affect Mac and Linux users and no additional downtime will be required. Mac and Linux users will be asked to update their version when they launch the EVE client again after downtime. Please note that this patch does not affect Windows users in any way.

Thanks, any improvement on the Linux and Mac clients is very welcome :)
By the way, are there any news on the availability of an official client supporting the Premium content on that platforms?

So this will patch both Eve and Cedgea's software on the Linux client machine?

International keyboard layout, but no font fix? Station texture fixes but no space texture fixes? Maybe these other issues will be better with the latest Cider? Thanks for giving the Mac client some love. Moar Prz!

No. Only the cedega/cider side.

Please send us a bug report about the above mentioned issues you're experiencing and we'll look into it.

There will be more!

The MacBook isn't officially supported, because it lacks a high performance graphics card. This could be the reason why the you get the flickering.
Originally by: Altaree hmm, not 1.1.3?
Since this does not include any update to the EVE Online client itself, there is no need to call it 1.1.3.

Please note that the Mac update might be slightly delayed, but should be available before 14.00 GMT today. This is because it is the first time we're using the Mac auto-patcher in the production environment.

If nothing happens you should already have the new update. To check if you have it:
1. Open finder 2. Go to applications 3. Click the EVE Online app and "Show Package content" 4. Open the Contents folder 5. Open the file Version.plist - In the document you should see "CiderBuild" and then a number afterwards. If you have 1823, then you have the new version. If you have 1481 you have the old version.

I loaded the patch when I logged on and immediately found that the graphics are so slow that the game is now completely unplayable. It acts like the FPS is about .5.

Also, the patch notes are now 404 Not Found, so I can't even research what the problem might be.

PS I have Intel Core Duo and I am running OSX 10.4
I am glad it is not just me.
I have submitted an in-game petition, but, well, it is the usual response time apparently.

FPS are down, I had 35 in station its now 20-17~ish outside its even lower outside, mission complexes, now suddenly hurt my FPS (in this case a single EM field) heavily.
some people see Cyrillic, i don't but I need to upgrade to 10.5.5, will try again after that

Looks like I'm getting a lucky escape. My version number is showing up as 5.11.64451 which is the latest version but it's not patched today at all, and the version in the plist mentioned is 1481 which is supposedly the old version.
Bizarre.

I downloaded the client and applied the patch. Station looks fine now, but frames are down: 12-15 fps on a MacPro with Ati x1900, while mining. Drones orbiting my ship fly choppily. I tried emptying caches, but no change.

I would love 12-15 fps. I am seriously getting about 1/2 FPS right now.

Hi all.
We're looking into the cause of this issue on mac at the moment.
Those of you who are experiencing issues, please do the following:
1. Go here: https://bugs.eve-online.com/newbugreport.asp 2. Write a detailed description of what the problem is. Crashes? How often? Lower fps? How low? 3. Add what version of OS X you are running 4. Add what graphics card you are running 5. Start the system profiler and save it to an xml file 6. Zip it and attach to the bug report
