Maybe you blow up the conts with your smartbombs?

Oveur, while I appreciate you're very busy, you've been answering alot of posts people have made but you still haven't answered my question on what is causing this lag (which for me and a lot of other people is making Eve unplayable) and what is being done about it.
Bugs I can work around and it's one of those things but being so lagged as you can't even turn on your modules makes it impossible to do just about anything in Eve at the moment.
A quick Dev-Blog or Forum post to answer this would be greatly appreciated.

I have addressed this a couple of times, last time was in this thread:

CSM talks about that. It's high priority, hard to reproduce to get a fix out of it.

We're experiencing it to be localized, our server guys are sweating on it.

CTD¦s returning.
CSM talks about that too, they never disappear, they playerbase that get them increase or decrease. Always being dealt with and never stops.
Originally by: Einheriar Ulrich Mem loss. just to mention a few.
Quit drinking so much, it helped me with my mem loss

Well anyway ovuer thx for the answers.
The memmory loss still ocurs, just sitting in a station eats 500 MB, sometimes, i dont know if this is a localized problem, since i have only experienced it in curse region
But it think others have had the problem also. thx again, and NO i will never stop drinking
Localized in the sense that we aren't able to find a clear pattern since this isn't happening to everyone, not even the majority of players. That's why we're examining individual nodes, individual regions/constellations, individual internal networks, individual backbones etc.
We have found one likely source that can cause individual nodes to eventually crash (that's the node crashes you have experienced the last weeks). These nodes have a lag period before they are either killed by sororicide (node killing a sister node since it sees it isn't performing) or homicide (server admin pushing the red button).
We are also looking at large chat channels, they have had some fixes, since channels that are 500+ have had problems. _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |

Edited by: Hawk Firestorm on 25/06/2004 15:41:11 Here's another new one for you.
There appears to be a rather nasty new warp bug, it may just be related to the impass cluster or be a global one, it's been experienced by several in the area.
That is I jumped into a NPC mining op, went oh **** and immediately tried to jump out with all NPC's at around 60-80k range.
client gives warp drive active, ship aligns no jump, client drops out of warp.
I know wht your thinking Jammers right?
Problem is no jammers were in play at all, or indeed present, client refuses to accept any further warp requests until I twig there's something iffy goin on several minutes later and press stop, and re-issue.
Client again goes though warp initialisation and no warp, bout a minute later I loose my fully equiped megathron to a bug.
Several have had this where their ships refused to warp for no apparent reason, and have suffered losses again all in the same region.
Anyway as a result I think there's several emails in the re-imbursment que, one being my own. heh ;)

Not sure if it has been mentioned or not. But if you look at the player standings of someone in local, you can bring up the "disliked by" information, by clicking on the "Standings" tab. You can then scroll down to corps like Concord, and do Show Transactions. This *used* to show you information on good/bad stuff that a character had done recently, now it just says :
No Transactions are available
Can this be fixed? What broke it ?

Yeah, this feature was also very useful for pinpointing someones location when you're not near your location agent.
(By looking at their transactions list with agents for recent activity).

Originally by: Righteous Fury couple of bugs i noticed -
Auto Reload: 2 bugs actually. First is that if you have multiple turrets reloading at the same time, sometimes the ammo pile doesnt get split up quickly enough and since the ammo pile is currently being used by one turret, the rest of the turrets cannot find the pile (very annoying in battle, when multiple "Proper ammo not found" boxes come up). Second bug is that some turrets get stuck reloading. Only fixes for this are relogging or docking/undocking. EXTREMELY ANNOYING.
Loot tables: Sansha's Battleships still drop crap loot (i.e. basic power diags, small turrets, 1mn ab/mwd). Commanders don't drop loot worth killing them most of the time. Interceptors drop basic loot, even though they're elite frigates (Maybe this is what its supposed to be, I was under the assumption that because they were 'elite' they'd have better loot). Also, rare chances of cruisers and frigates dropping bship class loot (examples include picking up a Quad Lif Booster Rockets from a cruiser mission rat, Quad Lif AB from a frigate in 0.8, etc).
Damage Display: Mostly appears when fighting NPC battleships. When doing armor damage, sometimes the display does not update damage properly so that it looks like you did insane damage to destroy said NPC. For example, I've killed Sansha's Lords where it only displayed current damage taken as 3/4 of the circle.
Standings: Still can't see which player corps like my corp, and which dislike. Gets to be annoying when we don't know who to watch out for.
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure I'll remember more in the morning (sorry if I've repeated any).
figured I'd quote myself because nobody loves me

I think they take 0.01, I was carrying a few hundred and I had cargo filled of about 3 m3, not much, but it wasn't 0.

To agree with Righteous, this has been my concern about the patch. I would really like to have the standings to be displayed as they were before this patch. Any information about this would be much appreciated. |

Large numbers of buddy list entries (in the 100s) cause the client to lag while starting the game. This results in your ship in space while you cannot see any other ships for the duration of the lag.
Stuff that loads: UI Your Ship
Stuff that doesnt load: Other ships chat window mail
In my case, with 500 buddy entries, it takes about 3-5 minutes to load. In station it isnt that big of a deal, but if I ever drop connection while by a fight, be it PvP or NPC, my ship will be dead before I ever even see it. ------------------------------------------------

Have a look at Tash-murkon, since patch it can sometimes take me 2-3 CTD/grey screens to cross a system.
it's getting that i cant do anything, sometimes i'll be warping merryly along & "poof", or i could be sat in a station for a few mins, type something in a chat, press enter & "poof", double-clicking in space to move somewhere "poof" opening a can, activating a mod (MWD), targetting "poof poof poof", basicly anything where the client has to connect to the servers.
i'm wondering if there was a buffer (ie wait a bit longer for a reply from server before disconecting) or number of retry's before disconnection change in the patch, or maybe the should be till the nodes are all peachy again <><><><> Freelancing Corp |

Criminal Flagging is lagathron generator number 1.
When those ghey red boxes wear off its a total client freeze for everyone involved

Quote: I don't seem to get bounties from serp merc's and other small npc's
I'm also getting that problem on all serpentis NPC's including the cruiser class ones.
I am using smartbombs on a Dominix, and I think the problem is that I am only getting paid bounties for the ships I destroy that I actually have targetted. For instance, I can warp into a big group of 5-6 Serps frigs, fire off a Nofo or 2 without having anything targetted, destroy all the ships but get paid NO bounties at all. At other times, I can selectively target 2-3 ships in a group of 5-6, destroy them all in a mighty incendiary SB blast, and only get paid for the 2-3 that were targetted.
Is this intentional? Or is it a bug of some kind? I've not actually ever noticed this problem before using smartbombs, because generally when you destroy a ship you had it targetted beforehand when using rails, missiles, lasers and so on. -----------------------------------------------

Edited by: Joshua Calvert on 28/06/2004 16:36:20 There's a wierd bug which can only be fixed by avoiding the system until next downtime.
The bug is that no modules will activate and locking cycles never finish after jumping into a system.
