But seriously .. cant we have a buffer? like a week's time?
Two days ought to be enough for anybody! much like 640k..
I think I just realized what this is - some MBA or a consulting company (McKinsey, etc) came in and made a powerpoint presentation on how much money CCP was leaving on the table with GTC's that cost the same as a subscription, unsubscribed training... guessing next thing on the chopping block is multiple characters per account.
Word of advice from someone who has been there and done that - these types of MBA's / Consultants never factor in customer satisfaction in their calculations, and while they work well for an essential utility (electric, phone (to some extent), etc) they don't work well at all for an economic luxury like what CCP provides, especially not in an economic climate like the one we have today.

I don't see why people moan. CCP will be loosing more money than they are gaining for this, and to be honest ignoring the character farmers how many people will be effected that much in the grand playerbase i.e. more than just the forums.
And before people go l2p or call me a noob or whatever, I have been playing for five years, only missing out a single month when finances disallowed me.
Exactally - you've been playing for five years and have a boatload of SP. Chances are that there's not much you can't do, not many ships that you can't fly. Try telling a new player that he's going to have to wait three years to pilot a capital ship and see just what they have to say..

Because companies actually want people to come back and if the player thinks he doesn't like the game enough to keep playing while training BS5, then removing the incentive to come back at all is a bad idea.
So name one MMO developer that lets your character progress while your account is frozen then?
This argument doesn't work in a MMO where character ability = time played.
Your WOW or WAR character can't progress while your account is unpaid.. but then again, you can't grind dread skills out in 3 weeks, either.
