How far would you have to be pushed until you quit Eve, which nerf or changes to the game would be Game breaking to you as a player, Think that Starwars game ( I never played it ) but heard it was bad.
To me such things as warp to zero & double health were pretty bad moves along with other things such as removed static plexs.

No this is not a whine at all, I have two account with billions of isk were not talkin about what I want on a plate, am simply asking you as a player / players, what would it take for you to quit Eve? What changes would be to far.
For the guy above, what makes you think I still play eve? I mearly change skills every now & again & spin a new faction ship in the station & log.
Another thing I would like to add while am here, back in the days when we all had half as much health & no warp to Zero low sec pvp was so much more fun , the fact you could kill things with AF's was a joy, not only that but I find it far more entertaining to kill a player who has not made it there life to be pure pvp.
Killing pvpers is like killing NPCS they are ready to die so it does not matter to them if they lose ships hence its boring , Killing players who dont want to die now that my friend is FUN!

nothing could make me quit.
This game is the only of its kind. People who are smart and know how to adapt usually survive nerfs.
I can fly both a nano zealot and tanked zealot. The nerf doesn't really change the way I play as far as choosing between nano or non-nano as much as it maybe changes my fittings slightly or gives me more viability for choosing the non-nano.
As always, people tend to want things their way without compromises, and threaten to quit as a result.
I encourage anyone that is whining and threatening to quit to either quit or be more constructive. _______________________________________ Sig? where. There's no sig here. |

I'd only actually quit if the game became too carebearish (pvp flag for example), or if a better game came out. There are a few nice ones lined up (Infinity for example) that I will be trying out, but for now I suspect eve will remain the best (and only) of its kind.

Exactly this. The second they turn this land-mined sandbox into player-humping WoW is the day i quit. Seriously, I can't stand any other MMO, full of pussies who expect to be babysat threw everything. Eve doesn't do this, it tells you to take a hyke if you want help, and that is what makes this game great. ------------- Descend, bold traveller, and attain the centre of the Earth. |

I would quit EVE if there was some decent competition in the Space MMO genre. Right now they have a unique niche product. While there are some things that I dislike about the game, it's the best game of it's type out there. Until something better comes along, or until the numbers dropped to the point that there were too few targets, or my corporation dissolves, I'll probably stick about.

why are they always going back to the time that warp to zero was still not there and see that as a good thing.. creating 1000's of instas to simulate the warp to zero was a major pain in the ass for the individual players.. and it was a very good thing that wtz came into place...

Excessive carebearification - heavy lowsec nerfs or 0.0 PvP nerfs, anything that makes EVE less sandboxy and more Lets-all-hug-and-fly-internets-spaceships-together-in-highsec. if one of the following happens:
PvP flagging (consensual PvP) One of my favorite parts of EVE is doing things to people that they don't want happening, its fun
Shards This is a maybe, I might still stick with it, but one of the things I like about EVE is how everything is player run and things can't be player-run if there aren't that many people on the server, which sharding causes.
Starwars Galaxies rolls back to pre-cu.

They complain about warp to zero because they were the ones running bots that copied gate bookmarks 23/7 and made isk by selling them?
What would it take for me to quit for good? I'd have to be so tired of Eve that just the though of Eve wouldn't interest me.
I stopped playing for a short time to give WoW a try earlier this year. After about 1 1/2 months, WoW got really tedious. Sure its pretty.... and thats about it.

I also played WoW for a short while. I remember one time someone in our guild or whatever was discussing being more careful letting people in (I literally was given an invite out of the blue without knowing anything about it or talking to anyone, and accepted) because of the possibility of spies.
Everyone laughed at him; what possible reason could there be to spy? There would be no point.
This pretty much sums up why EvE is better, and what it would take for me to leave; as it is, the stuff you do influences the state of the game. You can change and affect things that go beyond advancing your own character and making someone else wait two minutes to get back into the game.

I haven't really played for years. I'm a solo player and solo play has, for the most part, been dead for quite a while.
I still make isk, buy and outfit ships, but the days of having empty hangers and killmails is long over for me. Now, they're full of expensive fits with high sp speciality fits that rarely get undocked. I don't much like getting swarmed by camps/20 member gangs to kill little old me.
Still paying though, so obviously ship spinning and exploration is fun 'enough'.
However, as soon as another space game with significant loss and a real market comes along, I'm likely to hang up my pod. Sad, as Eve's given me a lot of enjoyment over the years, but its a bit stale for me now.

There are a few things that will make me quit...
1. Making me pay for expansions (betcha they will soon)
2. Extensive nerfing of PvP in any area (hi/lo-sec or 0.0 - and yes, they're working on it already)
3. A few more bone-headed moves like the Chribba thing and this current one. (Ha ha ha)
Frankly, I'm starting to think a drunk monkey could make better decisions than some of the ones CCP has been making lately.
Of course, I've never seen the devs in person, so maybe they ARE drunk monkeys.

- Making interbus deliver stuff in empire (even for a price, even with delay), eliminating hauling. - Another concord buff (although, it's already gone way too far ><) - Making high sec missioning more profitable somehow (seriously this needs nerfing bigtime) - Not adding more regions in the next 12 months - eve is getting way too small (alternatively, removal of highways and imposing certain limits to the market in a single system may be partial solutions)

Unless there is fairly radical change soon then I can't see myself staying subbed for much longer. This does not reflect changes that CCP have made to the game, it reflects changes that they haven't made: the game has been essentially the same for the ~3 years that I have been playing, this does not make the game good or bad but it does make it boring (for me at any rate). Over the summer I took a break and came within a hairs breadth of not re-subbing but fortunately for CCP the people who I play the game with got me to re-sub... If they go inactive and the game doesn't change then that will certainly mark the end of my time in Eve.
Incidentally if I did un-sub I would not start another MMO (Eve is still, in my opinion, the only worthwhile one out there) and I think that running your own corp in Eve is by far and away the most satisfying gaming experience money can buy, just a shame about the epic time sink that goes with it (though that's people's fault, not the game's). ----------- When I was a n00b, I spake as a n00b, I understood as a n00b, I thought as a n00b: but when I became pr0, I put away n00bish things. |

I haven't even thought about quitting eve due to nerfs/changes. I have on the other thought about quitting due to lack of "product promise" (crappy Mac-client and no premium). Constant flux is good. Keeps you on the toes.

To me such things as warp to zero & double health were pretty bad moves along with other things such as removed static plexs.
Oooh someone else thought for me.

It goes something like this,
:Any given company announces the launch of their new Space based MMO where you can explore the far reaches of space, discover and build.
It will provide something Eve can't offer. New.
Not to be confused with more or bells and whistles. |

They'd have to remove the chat channels although if it stopped being a space-based MMORPG that would probably be the end as well. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

I still think Eve was alot better back in 2006 then what it is now 2yrs later, sure we have a few more shiny ships & missiong system LP's & what not, but pvp wise its just gone down hill so much more!!
How I remember killing barges in low sec with my interceptor along with SKUNKS :D

If CCP had real competition in the sub-genre and the game turned out to be better, I'd switch.
Of course, if CCP had real competition, maybe they would set down the Idiot Ball the devteam currently seems to be playing with and make Eve legitimately better for everyone and not just different and in various stages of brokenness. ----

1. beta players being allowed to keep skill points so retail players never ever have the chance to catch up.
2. some kind of lottery though it's not realy a lottery as the results are always hidden, then leakage about players being given blueprints.
3. dunno about number 3 but i'm sure it won't be long. |
