When i first started this game all i heard was good stuff about it people were happy to a point (this was 2 years ago) now all i hear is im quiting this game im upset so on so on. Why cant we just leave it alone keep it as it is. Instead of all the nerfs why dont yall take the time to actully fix the lag issues. So on behalf of most the players in Eve LEAVE IT ALONE ITS OK HOW IT IS!!!!!!!
Btw i love how the post about the ghost training got locked and there rely wasnt anything bad on it.

The lag issues were allways a priority for CCP...but trust me it's not that easy to fix that...they spend lots of money to fix it..and the nerf you are talking about is actualy balancing...don't forget zealot got boosted for example..what do you want? an indistructable ship so you won't get poded?

Also Transgaming(cedega) is just an isk loss. (from lin pov, don't know about mac).
So get as much isk as you can from where you can sc**** it and put more into those nodes.

This has allways been the case and allways will.Look on any mmorpg forum and you will see the same thing. It is inherent to mmorpgs/humans.
People will now say they will quit over nerf/bug X and a month after not say anything about that any more , they will have moved on then to complain about nerf/bug Y.

Hmm, you seem to have forgotten that you've now entered "our" domain, that of the smacktalking, undermining, bitter veteran, one-lining, 0.0 alliance, cynojammed system holding, hotdropping, omgyourkillboardstatssuck, altposting trolls.
Now go back to C&P and look for some content there, besides the whole pirate community patting eachothers back in one glorified underaged e-peen parade.

in 2004 there was 4k people on the sever tops and a 20 v 20 lagged like hell and people dint cry that much, but these days people allways want more then what there have, your lucky, and if you dont like it play somthing else.
Now there is around 32k and we can have 150 v 150 BS fights with no real lag. All I can say is nice job CCP keep it up, there working on it and have been working on it for 4 years and so far have done a bloody good job saying they had no real esperance in the networking area.
If you read blogs and the videos from last eve fest you know they working with IBM to biuld a supercomputer to run eve on (things may of changed tho i ant keeped up with what there doing). Now the nods will be biult and arranged for eve instead of atm where there just add more standerd nods on top of what there have. |

Edited by: Flash Ahhhahhhhh on 14/10/2008 13:37:38 The fact of the matter is ... There is a global recession, people are trying to squeeze as much as they can out of their currency ... meanwhile companies are doing whatever they can to ensure that people do not cut back on their particular product. So what CCP are doing is nothing different (with regard to stopping Ghost Training).
However, whereas many companies are enticing people with additional services and shiney things, what CCP have done is introduced a penalty for failing to keep subscribed ... again they are not unique in taking this approach, it is an eternal argument as to which is more effective, the shiney smiley approach or the hard arsed approach ... of course as consumers we all tend to favour the shiney approach (unless of course you are so rich you do not care either way).
In my opinion, where the Hard Arsed approach fails is when it is used on a hobby or a leisure pursuit ... because these are far easier for people to give up than the neccesities of life. I appreciate the icelandic economy is suffering more than most on this planet ... however I suspect to rectify CCP's balancebooks they (CCP) have taken the wrong approach.
[Edit] Maybe next they will decide that any account that lapses loses all skills ... when that day comes I think we can kiss goodbye to the game we all love (to moan about)

The problem is that if they put all they effects in improving lag and not adding to the game say since 2003, the game would of got old and people would of stopped playing and less people would of start playing which means allot less money to put into the falts of the game now.
If ccp never added to the game the money they would of been able to spend on fixing lag now even if they put 100% of they resources into it would of still been less then what they are putting into it now, even though it may be 40%. So thanks to ccp`s ability to balance the resources you getting less lag then you would of and a game 200% times better then you would have if you whent with your approach in putting all resources into lag.
CCP have got to balance things out and keep people interested in the game as well as improving in whatÆs already there.
Am as for IcelandÆs economy yea its bad but ccp is still growing fast.

You mean CCP reacts on the latest developments? I really doubt that, I tend to say the would do it anyways since it's just a bug shining as a bonus. CCP is a meanwhile traditional and entrenched company with a very good b2c product and thus they won't suffer that much from the crisis as long as the stock of players won't decrease.

Saying CCP are doing nothing about lag is bullshit.
If you honestly think that, then you obviously: a) Have not done ANY research whatsoever b) Are making baseless accusations based purely on...nothing (what you read on CAOD does not count) c) Have not been involved with any large scale conflicts any more.
Node crashes are happening a lot, and yes that sucks. But the lag before and after is generally getting much MUCH better. Over the last month-2 months that Tri has been fighting, I have personally seen a huge improvement in the server, and CCP blogs have explained changes they are making in order to make fights as enjoyable as possible.
Is lag gone? No. However, is it getting better and are CCP putting resources into fighting it? Yes.
