One thing I learned from you guys is that NEVER pay with CC as you guys do cross-reference of CC used and do naughty stuff to accounts that has that CC at SOME point been used.
Using ETC is much more secure way. Sadly, you cannot delete CC info from CCP's database to prevent this kind of abuse. Is it even legal?
That makes no sense, did you mean if you do bad things with one account all related C/C'd accounts get punished? Rightly so?..

Great promotion, small number of accounts. You'd think that most alt accounts would be P2 accounts, but they aren't.

Thats because alot of people cant afford to be on credit cards or just plainly realize that they are bad and can get you in alot of debt that you will quickly be unable to get out of if you are not careful
hence why the majority pay by ETC if you cant afford it thats just it, you cant afford it

I can make a good estimate based on account IP logs and isk transfers (use info like, logged in @ IP x times, transfered money to other account which uses same IP alot x times, etc).
If CCP pays me and gives me access to the DB, I'll have the estimate in no time.
(but I bet they allready made an algoritm for this to give their accounting office each month). ----------------- Destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It's not a thing to be waited for - it is a thing to be achieved. |

Sunshine Grifter "Hard to figure out? how about 'How many UNIQ IPs per month log in' not so hard after all...." 3 different people with at least 4 accounts login from my one uniq IP.
Confuzer sai "I can make a good estimate based on account IP logs and isk transfers (use info like, logged in @ IP x times, transfered money to other account which uses same IP alot x times, etc)." That's not going be a good estimate, a pretty bad one if anything.

I like to contest that.
Maybe you are in a student house with a router which provides internet to a few people, or share it with neighbours, but not all have that. I can even add a few procent to the number. And yes indeed a small percent of the estimate will be a guestimate then, I see no problem in that.
And you need to read the "etc." too. I can probably think of a few more things to use, like account info's for instance.
As in your case, how do you guys pay? Did you fill in different account info on your accounts? Do you transfer alot of isk to eachother regularely? Or only to your alts? ----------------- Destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It's not a thing to be waited for - it is a thing to be achieved. |

I neither transfer money to my alts or to each other. We all play independently without transferring cash to each other and I don't transfer to my alts normaly.
I think your really underestimating how many people share IP either via routers or other means. Sometimes whole villages and towns share the same wireless broadband. Its going knock out your numbers by far more then a few %.
As a IT Tech I find almost every home I go to is a router type setup with IP's shared between more then 1 PC. There are just to many things for it to be a good estimate.

Originally by: Akita T For each of the people closing accounts now, I can almost bet there's one account being reactivated prematurely because it was in "black training mode", and several more characters getting consolidated into less accounts (ka-ching, 15+20 monetary units per consolidation out of black training).
This is absolutely true. I was going to ghost train for the first time for a month or so thanks to rl, now i have kept those accs active. Of course i now am paying for eve for 4 accs for a month while i cant play, which sucks, but it certainly doesn't cost ccp anything. I am only annoyed at ccp for nerfing at just the point i am going to do it for probably the only time lol.

Actually in a lot of countries debit cards are quite uncommon, and trying to explain to a tourist from those countries what the difference is can be quite difficult lol. |

You didn't answer my question, do you guys pay seperately? And did you give account info? Also, your alts, how do you pay for them? If you don't transfer ISK, I bet you just pay for them instead of using GTC's, cus there must be lots off occassions you don't have like 550mil in a wallet and need isk transfered.
I really do think I can give a good estimate. And analyzing NAT overloading may even give more accurate results. |

We pay separately. No idea if they have alts or not. I pay for my alt by card. Not that it matters as I think your underestimating shared IP's by a lot.

If I underestimate them, then we just higher the % we can't find (do some queries at random IP's with multiple accounts).
Ofcourse I am not 100% sure, but it still would be nice to try. |
