Yes, it's true. Probably most of you don't leave general forum but there is a thread in information portal, about ghost training, that has already 120 pages. And the most amazing thing is that it has been invisible since it reached 70 pages.

CCP intiated another thread, saying that, beacuse of technical issues, the thread I mention above could not be seen on the front page of information portal, and it also contains a link to the 120 (so far) pages thread. The second thread was locked when it reached 2 pages.
Now, one might think that, yeah... it's probably a technical issue and they were nice enough to open a new thread with a link to it.
But tell me this, who notices a thread on eve information portal that only has 2 pages? People take a glimpse at the front page and move on.
Tell me this also... how many times did a thread disapear like that?
Tell me this also... how come "technical issues" were also the excuse to bring down the my account page when a lot of peopl wanted to go in there to cancel subscriptions, after the end of ghost traning was announced?
Am I paranoid? Most likelly. But with the last events, my reasoning here is that this was a strategy to cut down the impact the thread was having.
Draw your own conclusions but I'm learning to expect the worst from CCP these days.
Let's see how long this thread lasts also...

Perhaps they grew tired of the "WAAAAAAAAAAH I WANT MY FREE COOKIEEEEEE!!!!!" whines? Even more with the amazingly idiotic arguementation some people used.

I'm pretty sure CCP killed JFK and covered up the Roswell crash. It would explain a whole lot atleast.

If you are not paying for an active account, why should you recieve SP?
It's a no brainer, pay and get SP, or shut up and don't pay.

This isn't such a no-brainer. Offline accounts also get Research points, get to stay in their corps, keep their market orders out and their blueprints in research/manufacture. Yet, nothing is being done about those things.

Because of course, the best way to do it would have been to implement it quietly, and not tell anyone. Then the moron brigade can threadnaught over CCP not ever talking to people.
RP gain should go too, but it's most likely harder to do than skills, so it'll come later.

Lol at the character-seller whine.
I realized how ridiculous this "feature" was when i trained up a couple hulk alts to 6m sp then sold them for 2b each. They cost me 3 gtcs each, with a month in between for mining barge V, exhumers V, etc. That's 2b profit - 3 x 150-200m GTCS - 20 buck char transfer fee (another gtc). thats 2b-800m=1.2b profit for doing absolutely nothing other than changing skills every few days. No wonder CCP nerfed it.
Yes the ghost-training was kind of cool when your alt that you don't use much is training for carriers. But is it really a GAME BREAKING feature removal? What's up with people saying they're going to quit just because they can't have an alt training for free? Stop meta-gaming and play freakin eve.

Ive never sold a char and never planned on it. I run 2 chars..1 for pvp and 1 for industrial stuff and exploration. (1 paid on credit card. 1 on GTC.) Ive used ghost training when I ran outta isk to cover a gtc (usually a week or two if I was too busy RL to grind isk).
I have played for several years.
I canceled my subscription last night.
Why? Its not because I really care that much about ghost training itself..its the pattern I am seeing with CCP that annoys me.
What I consider short notice on announcements - GTC changes. Ghost Training Changes...etc
and what seems like dishonest or just clueless posts to make them sound good. (GTC and ghost training is purely about making cash. why couldnt they just say that explain why..and give us a month warning or so)
Im losing faith in the company and figured ill take this time to take a break from the game and go try other mmos
I loved CCP because they seemed to be gamers first and a company second in many ways.
now they just another mmo that doenst seem to really give a rats arse.
Will I come back? Depends on if other MMO's out there hold my interest or not. (Only other MMO i have ever paid a subscription for is Pirates of the burning sea..so I have several to try out).
Its not the changes that made me want to leave..its the way they announce them..and the personal belief that they cant be honest with their gamers.
Yes this is my main. No you cant have my stuff. (I may come back some day).

FFXI is doing free trials now. Lots of people still play that and new features added made the game much more accessible for new players.

I've been playing Sword of the New World. Yeah, it's a standard grindfest -- but a pretty and IMO fun one. And like eve mining much of it can be done afk. =)
Corpse looting, ganking, it's all in there. And I've had more fun playing it for a few days than I've had playing eve in the last few months.
Did I mention it's free, with micropayments for advantages? You know it's only a matter of time until you can buy 'epic' items in eve with micropayments on top of your monthly fee. Heck, the unfunded training was 'fixed' on the China server first, it's only a matter of time until the rest of it shows up on tranq. We should start a pool on when the 8 launcher Raven is first sold in the eve store.
