I've had goal since starting this game. Basically I wanted solo fun ships and over my summers of downtime train into group based pvp ships. My ship path is Minny cruiser classes T2, check. Then roll over to caldari ECM ships for group based warfare.
What happens is my whole skill path of over a year and half from beginning of my EvE playtime is about to get nerfed. With the recent patch announcement and CCP cater to whiner forecast wtf are people suppose to do? T2 Minny BS are simply sp traps or for people who enjoy old cars. Caldari ECM/Missle boats is the next nerf. Is there anyone besides the FOTM crowd happy with all these nerfs.
P.S. I'm training fluffy frig ships from other races tell CCP figures it self out.

I never did a radical skill path change based on FOTM.
I did train up curses a while back and RSD's, but even then that wasnt even a deviation from my planning.
Back in the myrm's heyday i trained those up, but it was really only gallente cruiser 3... had bc 5 for my abso long before.
The farthest ive gone towards the current FOTM is cald cruiser 2... and i trained that up a LONG LONG time ago, back when ecm was king in rmr (i think). Also proud to say ive never actually flown a blackbird ^^

Avoid training FOTM things, for whatever reason. Problem solved

Thats what happens when you go for the FOTM.
Personaly I started out as caldari but the moment I saw an amarr frieghter I started training amarr and never looked back.

I'd like to think my grand plan wasn't FOTM. I mainly played group based PvP online games. Support and unsupport speed/kiting groups was the norm. After talking to a few friends and mass research on this game I develop a long term skill plan for my character.
I picked a great starter frig race and pressed go. Unsupport and from square one I did everything I could to do it the right way. All support skills max'd,check. Specialize in one ship to boot, check. Now jump into a role. This role was Minny T2 cruiser class.
My Rapier was the ship that brought me to this game. CC while being able to avoid trouble. In effect its a role I've played in every mmorg since I figured out muds. Now I accept this one nerf because I understand how games will progress and regress. What worries me is now ECM will be the next on the nerf block. Now EvE is going away from support roles from pvp because a portain of the nerf crowd doesn't like to get out of DPS(I'd say monkey mobiles)ships.
The simple man that likes flowers in his beer thinks this game is going arse backwards. In effect I've started training stupid stuff like Amarr/Caldari frigs for shitz and giggles. I honestly think the dev and nerfherders need to either finds different hobbies or find a more reliable job.

Well you kinda have my point. I like the saturday morning killings! I jump in a ******ed fun ship and have fun, lose some win some. While this is happen I used to skill up in my masterplan. I have no masterplan because EVE doesn't make sense.

There isn't a nerf ECM dev burp. What there is though is a cheesy forum war that develops ingame balance.

When I started (with my othr char, not this one)ppl said I was crazy to go Amarr cause they are/going to be nerfed.
I ignorded them anyway and continued on training. I've still got to train various Drones, Engineering and Electronics skills to Level 5 (now at L4) as I want so I've got about 50 days of training yet to complete to get the BASIC skills I need. Thats doesnt take into effect ANY gunnery or missiles skills either, only drones, elec, eng, and spaceship cmd.
Now ppl say that Amarr are the ones to get and train for as they are going to kick after the other nerf's kick in...
So I say ignore what others say or think, do what you want and keep going. At the worst you'll only need to train frigate skills for other races (then indy skills, etc) but all the requried skills you'll still have so why worry?

I never said you chose your plan simply because it was FOTM, but the vaga and rapier were very FOTM ships, as was speedtanking. Regardless of how you chose it, it followed what was FOTM. --------- Your bad loan management perfectly strikes the stock market, wrecking for -777.68 points. Eve job list |

I havent changed anything, because I was reasonable enough to train up battleship skills, anyways.
Of course, in retrospect, I would not have spent about 20 million skillpoints were I did, but whatcha gonna do...
I look forward to Battleships And Faction Webs Online.

You **** and moan before the patch even comes out. Ships will still be fast, just not INVULNERABLE at that speed. Speed is broken, it was something to see a 2.4k ishtar back in the day... now 2.4k isn't fast enough and you will die. Take your crying some where else.

Yup my plan has changed BUT i cant complain... I've only been doing it 2 years =)
Thing is... Are GTC's gonna go up now as more people will be buying them?
Will our chars value increase due to more isk being spent to keep it active?
Will it cause more lag due to more people logging on to get there moneys worth?
Are ccp just doing this because they are feeling the credit crunch?

Thank you brother....
For the record, I train up all kinds of stuff sometimes just because I want it....no other reason. For example....There are things like the Amarr freighter that I think is just beautiful. so I trained it up. Now if I could just afford one.
OK...that's just my 2 ISK

Nope, never went after FOTM. Your best bet is still to skill for the shiptype or tactic you like the most and just play with it. Almost every ship has it's use. Well, until now apart from Assault frigs maybe...

Hmm, let see. I started training matar because I liked the fast ships(and piratey looks!!!), this was before the nanoage and I just liked them. tempest <3 etc I then sidetracked into caldari for some mission/easy rating skills *cough* I then focused heavily in gallente because I realy liked what Xonja did to me with her rix... or wait, thats realy didnt like... or maybe hm...
And then lately I've been fixing my amarr skills because I realized lasers was pretty awesome and ehm I wanted something new. I can now fly the hac, recon, cs/fcs, logistics of three races. And I'll probably get caldari to when I finish of all my by god inspired skills.
Go ahead and try to nerf me now CCP!
