The next generation Hulk should have
1) greater sensor range. It is annoying to see rats coming from a long way away and having to sit their waiting for them to get into sensor range. 23km is a joke!
2) greater range on the strip miners. extend the range out to 18km maybe?
3) a larger drone bay for heavier drones?
Does anyone else have any ideas?

(1) A giant bullseye painted on the model so it is easier for us to see you as we approach

Get a Mining Forman with bonuses and get into a fleet and presto! Problems solved. Quit soloing and fleet up.

Pft. I mine in a Hulk once in a while, is good income to fuel my PvP efforts in low sec :P. You don't need to be a carebear to mine you know :P. I still laugh at pirates bragging about killing mining ships. Its no challenge whatsoever. The challenge is to keep the barge allive in low sec for long periods of time (with escort of course). And a barge attracts many silly pirates that now pride my killboard ;)

Even assuming we're ever going to see a "next generation Hulk" (and I firmly doubt you ever will) you can already extend your strip miner range. Use a Mining Foreman Link - Mining Laser Field Enhancement in your gang and/or install a set of low-grade "Harvest" implants in your head.
