I'm talking about the kind of ship that can tell a group of pirates "You guys might want to head on back to that warp gate because this area is off limits" without fireing a single shot.
A massive ship equiped to handle several smaller ships. Something that has the look of authority like the Phoenix. Mayby a titan.
Perhaps a Seige ship with Assault missile launchers or something there about.
Let's hear some suggestions on ships and equipment.

Stick a Moros on a gate and nothing will cause you any trouble, the combination of epic blaster damage (don't forget to siege) and drone DPS turns even other capitals to dust, add in a strong tank and that intimidating butt plug look and you're on to a winner baby. |

I thought the closest they had to a space program was throwing sharp wooden sticks labeled "ballistic missiles" into the air.
Rumor has it that about a hundred of them are coming together to throw one really big sharp stick in an attempt to attack other planets. Environmental groups are already protesting the project, highlighting the potential dangers of wood-splinter fallout incase it detonates at launch.
Plus the Moros kind of looks like a weiner. Mayby that's just aerodynamics. |

Moros
On a gate, in siege, if you're suicidal (not to mention, XL guns in siege have trouble hitting planets much less Battleships). On a station nudged up into a nice unbumpable spot just using your Drones to kill sub-caps, if you prefer being effective.

This. If you have friends pretend to be a carrier and fit some RR seen as XL guns wont be doing anything to sup caps and if caps do arrive you will be docked before you can say "log off".

The only variable that matters is how vertical it is.
But then again it is only scary to those who don't know what it is all about. Doesn't take long to realize it's one of those funny ones. ---

You'd have better luck threatening pirates in a rookie ship. If you bring out a capital you'll attract a lot of attention and many more pirates. -=^=- "Someday the world will recognize the genius in my insanity." |

Because moros cant hit me waving arms and running around on the tip of his gun the thanny with 2-3 sensor boosters with locking script should be able to scare away any small gang but for a period of 10-15 mins because they will be back to hot drop your arse with their capital fleet

OP is kinda missing the point.
There ISNT a "wtfsolopwnmobile" that will scare away a gang of pirates. This is because Eve recognizes that one player shouldn't have the ability to beat a gang of multiple players by default just because he has a bigger ship.
Thanatos sure is sexy, alright. But all it takes is one interceptor to hold you down until his buddies arrive and your expensive carrier is toast.
And let's be clear, if you send a lone capital against pirates in lowsec... you'll have dozens of them coming from miles around. Nothing in the game can handle that level of firepower on its own.

Yes a Thanatos can be tackled but what about the Moros? can it realisticly be tackled by say an interceptor?

Unfortunately, no such ship exists. Only ships that say, "You guys might want to gather up all of your friends so they can get in on a juicy capital ship kill"

While neither ship will do much in terms of actually scaring people off, a Phoenix or a Moros would make good choices for engaging cub-capitals. You will need target painter support for the Phoenix, but a Moros' drones will just plain hurt anyone. Just park yourself up tight against a station where you can't be bumped off and have some fun. When the large fleet eventually comes to kill you, de-agress and dock up.

I'm assuming that you mean a dreadnaught with citadel torpedo launchers. If you actually intend to put assault missile launchers on a dread, prepare to be the butt of a comedy killmail joke.
EDIT:
Originally by: Jack Bombardier Yes a Thanatos can be tackled but what about the Moros? can it realisticly be tackled by say an interceptor?
Oh yes. All you need is a 'ceptor fast enough to outrun your Warrior IIs, which isn't all that hard to do. The best defense against 'ceptors is a heavy neut, and you shouldn't be finding too many of them on a dreadnaught.

Out of siege, yes.
in siege... they don't need to tackle you, your stuck.
No such capital. Pirates now days are not unorganized groups of BS pilots. They have capitals, and the ability to kill yours. If you show up with t\one, they might run, only to come back, trick you into bringing it out, and kill it without mercy.
you want to scare them off? Get a huge fleet of ships. E-war heavy, with logistics support.

If you're planning on scaring away the evil pirates, think again. While dropping a carrier or Moros on a pirate gang can be a nice little pirate massacre if you do it right, if you don't KILL them and GTFO, they'll just be back with enough firepower to kill your unsupported capital. Intimidation without firing a shot is just a dream, and one that will get you killed. Now, you have a couple choices:
1) If you don't care about ever killing the pirates (for some strange reason), just get as many Scorpions as you can. With enough ECM, you should be able to protect whatever carebear ops you are running.
2) If you want a capital ship, do it right. Drop in a Moros or carrier with at least a small support fleet (even 1-5 ships can work), kill everything on the grid, and get out ASAP. Done right, you'll kill every target you can keep warp scrambled and drive off the rest. But if you just sit there expecting to scare everyone away, eventually someone with the firepower to take you down will show up. Oh, and it's still risky, you can win some fights on surprise value, but be prepared to lose the carrier.

I preffer to stay away from parts that are named after someone.
Meanwhile this is all for future plans
I'm definitely going for the Moros. Now I need suggestions on equipment for fights against other fleets. Not station hammering equipment. Blaster Cannons is easy enough to figure out but I also want to be able to assist when forces of regular ships attack aswell.

Not going to happen.
Ever.
I'm being honest here, too. This is not a smart-ass pvper epeen answer. It's just honest. If you deploy a cap without overwhelming support, even pirates that usually hate each other will come together for the chance of taking it down.

Easy! Putting said capital in the next system over ought to get them out of your current system lickety-split!
Any capital will do, and fitting is irrelevant.

The main goals of a pirate in this game are
1 : Destroy ships in order to loot remains for income 2 : Ransom pilots for income 3 : Destroy ships because its funny
If you show up in a capital, like someone said before, every pirate and their grandmother will band together just to take you down. Why? Because you are in a very expensive ship, and they know that it will **** you off if they blow it up ...and for tasty lootz

Moros of course. Deal 1100 dps with heavy drones, you don't even have to enter siege for that, If something big shows up a Moros in siege can tank a lot and capital hybrids will take anything apart that doesn't move fast enough.

There is an old quote from CCP about "Solopwnmobiles"..........
CCP, by very very very DELIBERATE design, works hard to ensure that there is no solopwnmobile ship in Eve, and if the players manage to use the existing game mechanics to make a ship into a solopwnmobile, CCP "WILL" nerf it.
No exceptions, no excuses, no pity and no mercy.
You invested 20 billion isk to make a ship into a solopwnmobile because the existing game mechanics allowed it? To damn bad, here is a tissue, go cry in a corner.
Solopwnmobile will not be permitted to exist in Eve (at least not for long).
Play nice while you butcher each other.
