Edited by: Rozoq on 20/10/2008 03:04:04 ive got a few accounts mainly i carry about 500 mill liquid and always seem to burry my ISK in faction ships buy low sell high and play around in the market with a few high volume items... last time i did the math and market values on assets on all accounts total was about 10 billion..
but tbh it would take a long time to move those items unless i take a rather large loss so i try not to think about what i have and only try to make more and playing the market is great even if your making small gains on sales its the fact i dont have to log in and do anything to generate an ISK flow... its nice to log in and be a bit richer than the last time i logged off.

200mil is my short answer for all battleship pilots and most hulk pilots have... usually just enough to replace ones loved ship: aka the MEGATHRON FTW

275mill atm. Will have around 500mill when the faction loot sells and a friend and I split the sales 50/50.
But, me having more than 200mill only comes if I'm not buying new modules for ships or new ships, which I'm always doing.
Depends on the weekly payout on mission runner loot/salvage and modules the mission runners I kill drop... Good week [monday through friday] can yield maybe 80mill through 175mill.
A bad week... 20mill through 60mill.
Also depends on the hours I am on...
On average I have between 20mill and 80mill though ^_^ I'm a poor person =\

I only had 8 mill isk at one time in either of my two chars in my main (and only) account. Then I cashed in a GTC and spent most of it paying for share in corp, ships and skill books, etc..
So currently I'm at 80 Mill isk...

about 225m isk ... when I get over 300m I tend to spend on some ships and stuff so I am again below 100m and have a new goal in game (get over 200m isk) and the cycle repeats ... --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |

Edited by: Harper Ei on 20/10/2008 15:03:36 There is an interesting diversification taking place here.
Mission runners typically have around 200 mill, whereas traders often count billions on their account.
I know that trading is probally the easiest way to get rich in EVE - as in real life. It is also the most unproductive thing to do actually. Scarry that more than half the students at Harvard wants to work in finance and trade stocks for a living when they graduate. No wonder we have a financial crisis.
I wonder what a financial crisis would look like in EVE? There must be vast sums of isk gathered on very few accounts today. Especially traders in Jita, who practically set the prices on stuff in most neighboring systems, and for some goods perhaps even galaxy-wide.
Anyway. Pls continue to post your wallet/asset amount, an DOO comment. Thats the most interesting part really, and probably the reason why this thread has been read 3000 times by now.

I completely agree with this.
However having recently discovered how to be a parasitic trader in EVE, and without the moral limitations I apply to myself in real life, I am currently trying to hoover up as much isk as I can through playing the markets as deviously as possible \o/
In response to the original question, I currently have 657mill cash in my wallet, and about 2bill isk in sell orders. Now i've started trading however, i'm measuring the increase in cash through the expansion of the value of sell orders, as i'm trying to invest as much as I can every day.
Total asset value is probably about 15bill. Most of which is the value of my tech II BPO.

i never usually have more than a few hundred mil, when i do a big deal or get lucky on somthing and i land a bil, it lasts a few weeks till i spoodge it all on random crap.
my assets are worth a good amount, prolly 20bil+ scattered accross the galaxy

Right now I am in the process of rebuilding my Wallet. I have around 125Mil liquid between my 2 accounts and over 500Mil in assets. When ICE mining was strong (ie. fewer bots) I could bring in over 500mil a day. Now I will haul 38,433.1M of ice minerals from Brapilille to Ours and only make 75Mil. It is still good money just sitting in one place but it is not as good as it once was. All and all I am doing OK but I feel broke everytime my wallet gets below 300mil.

Taking orders marked too low and re-listing them allowing manufacturers to turn a profit... unproductive? Taking orders that are marked to high and undercutting them allowing customers to get reasonable prices... unproductive?
Originally by: Harper Ei I wonder what a financial crisis would look like in EVE?
Take out all the traders and you'd soon see. Not that they're in it for the love, but it is the traders who "heal" the market, removing anomalies and providing balance.
The answer to the question "How much ISK does the average player have in their wallet" is: Too much.

Personally i'm not trying to 'heal' the market when I buy up all the local stock and fix the prices. I'm trying to rob everyone in the area blind.

Yes. Nothing of added value. Producers don't get more than they would have gotten, consumers pay more than they would have paid. In fact, producers might overproduce in response to a temporary perceived increase in demand which is not real but purely speculative.
Originally by: Daelin Blackleaf Taking orders that are marked to high and undercutting them allowing customers to get reasonable prices... unproductive?
You can only undercut if you actually have the goods. To add value to these goods you are undercutting with, you might have produced or transported these goods. Just speculating by attempting to create artificial demand/supply relations does only create profit for the speculator at the expense of the society.
Sure, I'm doing it, but I'm not fooling myself that my speculative activities are making a net contribution to the economy.

Without traders the market would probably be dominated by those too stupid to sell products above build price. At the same time monopolies for rarer items would be much easier to form and many regions would suffer massive over or under stocking.
You are assuming that EVE's market is as, if not more, efficient as that in the real world. It is not.

Originally by: Harper Ei Its not a poll. I just find it interesting in relation to the price development in the game, since many prices seem to constantly drop. Maybe you could answer whether you have more or fewer on an average day now as compared to 6 months ago?
Actually, prices are on a slight rise this year. But to answer your questions, the average wallet (as in total game ISK in buy orders escrow, personal wallets and corp wallets / total number of actively subscribed characters) has been rising slowly ever since EVE launched, and it was slightly below 1 bil ISK last time it was made public.
Of course, there are countless characters that hover in between next to nothing and a couple dozen mil ISK, and a few entities with nearly trillions of ISK, but we're talking averages here.
