Total I have just under 10bil in both cash and assets, scattered across 4 accounts. This was all entirely earned by a combination of mission running, ratting, and a very small amount of manufacture and trade. Not bad given that I haven't actually played the game in about a year and a half. (I reactivated one account to see if I want to start playing again.)

Edited by: Jenina Hawke on 21/10/2008 08:43:03 A couple of billion spread over 4 active accounts. Income is pretty much passive, so I can focus on PVP. Got to love tradeskills...
I usually pay my accounts in ISK, so I must be making about 1.5 bill every 2 months and also have enough for getting nice t2 ships blown up.
Assets? Oh, my... More than I care to think about.

I just invested over 1.5B on various ships, so currently I have about 400M in cash, invisible-imaginary-person-you-believe-in knows how much in assets / liquid assets. Profession: trader
Being a trader (all markets) is really the least demanding "profession" in Eve, you need a few basic skills trained, most of which can actually be at lvl5 already from the get-go on a newly created character.

Yes. Nothing of added value. Producers don't get more than they would have gotten, consumers pay more than they would have paid. In fact, producers might overproduce in response to a temporary perceived increase in demand which is not real but purely speculative.
Actually, a trader manipulating a market is a producer's best friend. A trader can never win a market war against a good flexibel producer. The producer will have turned a good profit long before the trader makes anything comparable. For example by overproducing and listing his products somewhere between the old low price and new higher price, forcing the trader to either buy up the stock or sit by while the producer increases production and relists new batches on the market, keeping the market supplied at a higher price but substantially lower than what the trader would have liked. When prices inevitably start dropping and the trader starts dropping his price as well to get rid of his product, the producer can stop or lower production and switch to something else until the market resettles and the product becomes more profitable again. A good producer watches his markets like a hawk for any signs of speculation, or just normal supply and demand curves, manipulating it as a trader as he goes (that includes the buying side of his inputmaterials, even trading himself with his inputmaterials, or sometimes when he's got balls even includes the buying side of the product he's selling).
Of course this has nothing to do with the discussion whether a trader adds anything of value to society, I just felt like pointing it out, I sometimes get these strange urges to post something constructive. |

Maybe you could answer whether you have more or fewer on an average day now as compared to 6 months ago?
Thx

A few months back, I put up a sell order for about 300 mill for T2 stuff I had produced, and it was rejected as I didn't have enought isk to pay the broker fees!!
I have maybe 3 bill in assests but there was nothing nearby that I could instantly sell to get the ISK I required.
Talk about a liquidity crisis. It was like a personal credit crunch.

Just over 200 mill in cash, another bill in sell orders, no idea about solid assets. Couple of Hulks, a few BS parked here and there, salvage and loot scattered across 8 regions. Everytime I get close to a billion cash, I splash out and buy a BPO that gets me close to 0 again.
If the worst comes to the worst, I'll just jump in my executioner and run L1 missions like I used to.

I have a lot of assets spread around more then a single character. I think it is about 12 Billion in Assets 3,5 Billion ISK at hand, so I am not going to starve anytime soon, but still far away from owning a personal Mothership (which is the last of my long-term goals).
