Metric is easier than imperial in every single quantity, except one. When measuring energy, calories are easier than grams, as it takes 1 calorie to raise the tempurature of 1 ml of water my 1 degree C, while it takes 4.18ish joules to do the same.
But then you get onto how a Calorie with a capital C is 1000 calories, which is possibly the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time.

Not so much (we've started on beer, which means we're on my turf now baby ).
Anheuser-Busch was founded in America (by a German immigrant). St Louis, my Wiki companion tells me. Coors was founded in Colorado (by German immigrants again). Both are as American as anything can be.
Newcastle Brown Ale, however, was originally brewed by a brewery in Newcastle, England and is now owned by "Scottish & Newcastle" (itself having been bought and sold by several brewing giants over the years). Bass was a brewer in Staffordshire, England, although the company has since been bought and sold countless times. Pretty sure Marston's (another English brewer/pub chain) brews Bass beers these days, although I'm sure some international mega-corp or other owns the rights to the brand.
Guinness was and is a company who's headquarters and main breweries are in Dublin, Ireland.
Hence why I said technically. In that time period the only true Americans were American Indians and we know they didn't make the beer.
The beer companies were made by German immigrants as in people who came from Germany, which is why I say that Bud and Coors are technically German. I mean it's a no brainer that they're labeled American since the plants are in America, I'm just stating who it was originally made by.

Heh, depends how you think about it I suppose. The company called Coors (for example) was founded in America, and has always had both it's HQ and major breweries on the land called America, meaning the companies are thoroughbred American. True that the people who constitute the company weren't necessarily American, but thats just overcomplicating things. That'd be like claiming that the USA isn't American because the founding fathers and majority of the population are descended from immigrants, or claiming that Sushi is American cuisine as long as it was made by an American guy.
Plus it leads us into the thought trap that we're all just monkeys really, and so talking about the origin of anything in any other light is a bit moot... ------

That really the point I'm trying to make.
I always laugh to myself when people talk about our guns. WE DIDN'T INVENT THEM.
Then there's the case of the matter that only America holds the crazy religious people. WE DIDN'T CREATE RELIGION (but we're damn good at making new branches of it).
Our language is a compilation of like 5 languages.
Even the fact that the constitution states that only full blooded Americans can run for president but I have yet to see an American Indian in office. My heritage is something like Polish/English so technically I shouldn't have a chance in hell. (Yes I know what they mean by the definition of full blooded American before somebody posts a idiot response).
The American beer was originally created by a German.
Whenever Nationality Mockery hits I just find it amusing because in most cases you might as well insult yourself in a mirror since we're all more alike than most realize (except one russian who posted once that once you move to a new country your bloodline automatically changes to the new country and the old country bloodline is wiped from existance).

Originally by: Taedrin In all seriousness, why hasn't USA switched to metric yet!?!? It's not like anybody even knows the Imperial units. Seriously, walk up to somebody on the street in the US and ask them how many ounces in a cup, and they won't know. Ask them what a bushel is and they have no idea that you are talking about volume measurements. Ask them about rods, furlongs, spans, and whatnot, and they will give you the same puzzled look.
Please, they already teach us metric in school, and most of us who actually attending grade school understand metric better than the Imperial units!
Think about how much it would cost to switch over to the metric system, we would have to change every speed limit sign in the US for one. Although I do prefer using metric it is much easier than the customary system.

I think the only way to truely solve this conflict is to have Lindsay Lohan and Keira Knightley lock horns in mortal combat.
It'd be a tough fight to call. Keira is pretty athletic, but Lindsay has the evil cokehead strength. Either way, if someone's top gets ripped off, both countries win.

Ah, I haven't noticed. Well, there's a sporting goods store right next to a home depot near where I live, with a Costco right next to that, all packed so closely together you could spit at the side of one building from the side of another. That would problably be a fair bit better than the walmart, actually. Most importantly, how are you supposed to tell whether this is part of my post or my signature? |

Actually I'm pretty sure the UK has enough nukes to blow up the world aswell. Just America and Russia have enough to blow it several times over. And that fact is kind no longer important as all of UK nukes and most of Americas are in subs. No longer risk of getting blown up by another enemy nuke before used.
Anyway to OP, lol but old. Still funny though.
#9 refers to bud I assume, and it has to be one of the most womanly beers I've ever tasted...
and #11 should compare American Football to rugby. Its the real comparison which I still don't understand why American doesn't just covert and join the world. That and metric.
On the otherhand I think UK needs to swap its road signs so ours cars don't need to be tailored for us. Who knows maybe thats why the polish are such bad drivers on our roads.

Originally by: Qel Hoth There's a Beck's brewery in Philadelphia. And Beck's is far, far, far, far, far better than any English beer.
No there isn't. Whatever they're brewing there, it isn't proper Becks.
Becks Bier is only ever brewed in Bremen in Germany and is exported all over the world. The shyte that they are brewing (under license) in Philly will be ersatz rubbish for the American pallette and bear as much relationship to proper Becks Bier as sugar does to salt.
As for Becks being better than English Beer, you cannot compare the two.
English Beer is usually bitter, stout, pale ale; bascially everything but lager. Lager (which Becks is) is not the same thing at all. It's like saying that Italian custard is better than French bread.

every country has amazing beers, you just won't see plugs for them during major sporting event half-times. That goes for America, too.
