Since my corp mate Leekar (the slacker) stopped playing, we need a new Fraps monkey ....wanna come join Kayo ?
Or can I come round and watch ....me thinks a 90minuite download might be a bit much
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

Yes it was a very nice fight! I couldn't be there in my Tempest since i've lost it 3 hours before in LJ- But got a Blackbird in this fight and survived over 30 minutes in it After that, i've had enough time to get back and return in my claw and kill some frigs It was 2:10am after this fight I'm so tired imo

Edited by: Lardarz B'stard on 29/06/2004 09:01:48 I managed to warp in once, get away, then warp in again and get blown up before i even loaded the grid. Was really good fun, but next time i'll be doing it in a battleship, not one of those stupid elite frigate things.
Was that the biggest fight in the history of Eve then?
I couldnt really give a toss who won tbh, it was all good fun.
PS: estios your banner is not ghey. it is a work of artistic genius. stop it or i will never do you another one again.

No, just kidding.
Was a glorious fight out there, for both sides. I hope we made it into the eve chronicals as the largest battle in newer history. And not to forget, I want to thank everybody for staying politely and not doing smack talk/flaming. Really, it was great fun.
Although I have to admit that I am a little sad shooting at old friends. John (Bishop), I thank you for the nice and polite way we are having it right now. Let's keep it up this way.
Now to the facts (officially backing up what olyyy already said, thnx olyyy): - XIF forces took part with 21 ships, mostly BS. - XIF forces lost 2 cruisers and 1 interceptor - XIF forces were involved in the destruction of numerous BS in the main battle. I have no exact numbers and proofs for that, so I skip the numbers. - XIF forces took out 4 BS in the end/after the main battle (confirmed by screenshots) and 2 further ones (no proof, sorry).
Special thanks to: - All XIF guys involved, at the frontline or supporting us elsewhere. - SA, especially Aeryn, for their superb cooperation. - CFS, for joining up with us spontanously and unprepared. - The free forces for their all time help. - Guys, it is great to fight alongside and not against you ! - And last but not least, CA, for meeting on the field of honour. You did a really gret job out there, it was pretty much fun.
Well guys, meet you on the battlefield again !
- Honor and strength ! -

Just some questions regarding your fraps.
In that ss it seems your fraps is not high quality, is it because of the ss or dont you have full version of it, or perhaps forced to lower the quality settings because of lag?
Its not a flame or d1ck contest but in the program I use It is as clear as eve it self and if you need/want I can send you my pirated version of it via irc.
And 90 minutes non stop, what kinda fkn hdd are you using for them frapses Spawn of the Devil

Well some pointers to the BIG battle regarding losses and confirming kills.
1, CA fought VS 3 alliances, (So Xtic keep that in mind when confirming kills losses please) Olyyy i thought you should know that better then anyone?
2, The numbers to me was around 25-28 lost non CA BS, (Not included the numerous ships we killed in HLW and u-q afterward)
15 CA BS Confirmed.
As i usualy say the truth will reveal itself in the end right?
And as a final statment, For the ctd pilots i have an idea a lost connection flagging, then you can ask yourself is this right?

Edited by: Aeryn Sun on 29/06/2004 09:37:11 Edited by: Aeryn Sun on 29/06/2004 09:35:15 Good work to all.
Warping to a heaviliy camped gate is sort of like beach landing... terribly stupid :) but sometimes it works.
There was alot of lag, but it still was great fun, even if it took 2 minutes to activate modules. I personally got out 4 times in structure, before I went in close, killed 2 cruisers and one scorp but had no chance of getting out. Very very good job to the CA scrambling frig pilot that blew up right before and next to me when I was downed.
I confirmed 22 battleships to xirtam, he confirmed 15 possibly more (very difficult for both sides to know so shortly after the battle).
The total score in the fight itself (not aftermath included) was on the bs front in CA's favour, we still claim victory over the battle itself, as we gained controle over the camped system of U-Q.
We confirm assistance to CA on killing one of our own (lagggggyyyyyy... poor sod)
SA fleet had 58 ships in gang. 55 active. xcetic had 22 Don't know how many ships the other gangs had.
The third allied gang joined the fight once it had been running for 25 minutes. Our combined fleet did outnumber the CA fleet, we counted 77 CA's at the gate at one point.
Few more ships from both sides got ganked in the aftermath of the fight.
Anywhoo, NO SMACK TALK PLS GUYS it was a good fight.
/aeryn
p.s. C4w3, pls don't post one sided on ship ganks in the aftermath. CA lost many as well.

The Curse Fleet showed up with probably all fighterpilots they have. CA liked to take revenge for the ganks on last weekend.
It took us much more then 2 hours to assemble enough Stainers for an engagement and to coordinate with the XIF / Atuk / CFS. We spamed all of our available channel with calls to arms the whole time. Aeryn Sun went to top form in merging our fleets and getting our dudes rdy for an attack. Thanks for the show buddy, that was impressive!
But as usually the commanders are primary targets, so the active part of the battle didnt lasted long for Aeryn and me. (fortunately we have enough good lieutenants, which take the helm on the battlefield instantly if this happens) I switched to FOF CRMs right before entering the battlefield, because of expecting beeing heavily jammned. I managed to activate my launchers after the first agression against me and to activate my shield booster after taking the first fire. Then my screen froze (which is for some moments an advantage, because you can totally focus on calling targets ). On the next picture my armour was down to 30% and all of my launchers were empty. I double klicked on a planet and managed to escape in my pod.
But hey, I wasnt in the mood to leave the battle, so I warped back into the fight with my pod to enjoy this prefect moment. But unfortunately Trucidorn wasn't so gentle to allow me that pleasure. So I had to take to clone jump. That wasn't nice dude!
Holy s**t!!! I spended 2 Ravens yesterday in total (one in the battle in U-Q and one in a smaller fight because of my bloodthirst in LJ-Y -north of HLW-)
For me, this kind of battles are, what it is, making EVE worth playing for such a long time. Thanks to everybody who was involved! Im looking forward to the new server nodes!

Not long... there were still forces on the way to join the fight when the battle started, and I was so far away that I thought I'd miss the battle. I was wrong
(The "joining the rest of the forces" part got complicated by the fact that the enemy fleet was between us and the rest of the CA forces.)
I didn't pay that close attention to the clock, but I estimate that it took 10-15 minutes to get ppl on the ts channel, and a little longer to gather the forces... my memory might be way off though (hopefully not).

Scenario: We(me scorpyn and 2 others) have just arrived in vol and see local filled with Xentic.
Warp to the gate he says
Me: local is filled with xentic, we might need to wait at safepot untill we know exactly where to go
No the gate is clear warp here
Me: warps to scorpyn
Xentic fleet warps in 3 secs later
*screen freezes

HMM it sounds awesome, looks awesome, shame i missed it. But just something for you peeps making kill counts. 125+ peeps died within last hour on map thing, i know this included frigs and cruisers. But id think majority of people were in battleships. 28 stain bs, 15 CA bs confirmed dead. I think numbers will grow as people log in the next morning, wheres my ship dude!!

It wasn't me who accidentally investigated the gate (with some help from the autopilot) to confirm that the gate was clear from the start
I did see a few of them warp in on the scanner though, but they were already at the gate before I got a chance to give a warning...

Are you people saying there is another war going on in EVE except in the north? I'm so sorry but the news has been kinda...one sided...lately.
Looks and sounds like an insaine battle! To bad the lag always kills (duh) some of the fun even though sometimes its glorious to just slug it out!
Has anyone played some other multiplayergame where the lag was taken care of or is all games the same in this aspect?
Also, props for keeping it civil in here and in the game so far!? We need more of that in generall me thinks.

Edited by: Machiavelli7 on 29/06/2004 12:24:19 Great fight last night peeps. We (being Querious corps all BA friendly) came up to A2 to fight the CA fleet that was camping there, but they jumped out when we arrived. Not sure if they were heading to U-V for the big fight or didn't fancy their chances against us, but i'll give them the benefit of the doubt
We moved up to HED hoping to catch some CA peeps, but quickly heard of the big kahuna burger going on in U-V. As we were about 20-ships strong we thought we'd join the fun
Jumping into U-V was a crazy experience! 20 ships jumping into a gate battle that already had 100+ participants milling around. However, i like to think we contributed a little to turn the tide and helped force CA to flee.
Was a lot of fun, but the lag made the game *only* just playable.
Edit: to clear up some misunderstanding, we were *not* CFS (although i think some of our gang were), and we were *not* BA (although certainly several were) but a combined force of Querious region peeps. Call it a 'Querious fleet', as perhaps the most appropriate description. Not an alliance, but certainly an effective force

That "Fleet" consisted of 2 Omega battleships 2 cruisers 3 frigates and 2 7th cav frigates. While our count was 12+ hostile battleships. We knew you were comming, but that ammount of ppl and the time you spend on gathering that fleet almost bore us to death. So yeah we had better things to do around that time. - - -
