Since just about any capital except Dreads are normally fitted with smartbombs, drones aren't going to achieve much besides costing you isks.
I'd go for mega pulses myself. ------------------------------------------

The best anti-cap battleship is the neut-apoc. Once their cap is gone it's just a matter of time. Of course, in reality, unless you have enough DPS to chew through their HP buffer in a matter of a couple minutes, they will have friends there to blob you.

Also, sentries FTW?
Anyway, as has been stated a few times already, you need to have something to drain their cap. No small gang of BSs is going to take on a dread if it's able to run its full tank, ditto for carriers. That being said, most carriers do fit smartbombs, so I'd go with a mix of neuts/guns (depending on the ship you're in and the size of the gang this will undoubtedly vary) and sentries, with tech II heavies kicking around if you have the room.
EDIT:The above is general advice. For a raven, go torps, 2 neuts, and the drones are your choice really (though for carriers sentries are a must) Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 bytes, ty. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

Neutting their cap is too slow. It's ok for scenarios like, say, a single cap beside a gate, but that's not really a realistic assumption. More likely it's going to be a single cap in dock range, or several caps together with or without support. Overwhelming firepower with a bit of ECM is best in those cases. ------------------------------------------

My former alliance used 4-6 BS with Neuts/Vamps that would suck down the caps.
This was the first responce team that would engage, so please tell me how this doesn't work.

Looking at the responses above, the answer would be at Neut Torp Phoon with sentry drones.
This:

With a mate in an industrial ship who can drop a can of ammo and cap charges.
(oh and that fits with with no implants needed)
